I'm not really familiar with Tennessee beers.

Georgia has a really great up and coming microbrew market. With Sweetwater, Terrapin, Monday Night, Red Brick, Jailhouse, Red Hare, Wild Heaven, etc.

Oh man, a glass of good bourbon in the winter is amazing. Have you ever had Basil Hayden's? It's a Kentucky bourbon, and it's expensive, but it is THE best I've ever had.

Go to the shop one block from corner store, away from the stadium. They have a wall of taps you buy gallon and half gallon jugs of as well as a bunch of good beer like you are looking for. The guy that runs it loves to talk and will help you pick out good stuff to try and see what you like.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale

Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Dale's Pale Ale
Blue Mountain Full Nelson Pale Ale
Legend Hopfest
Southern Tier 2X IPA
Sweetwater IPA
Sweetwater 420

A lot of these are fricking amazing for someone who loves hops, but for someone that hasn't had many IPA's... well, they're a little much.

That being said... fricking amazing list.

My favorite brewery is Goose Island out of Chicago. They've been a really solid brewery for a while, AB bought them out a year or two ago and they've been pretty hands off as far as the beers go.

They're brewing a lot of the staples outside of the Chicago brewery, but they're still pretty strong.

They have some amazing Saisons and real crafty beers. My favorite is the Sofie in the Saison and the Honkers Ale in the basics.

Everyone I've had try 312 Urban Wheat has loved it, but they're not beer people. It's a really approachable beer with good flavor.

Hell no. I LOVE Maker's, but Basil Hayden's is amazing. Those folks in Kentucky know how to make some damn fine bourbon.

I love some good bourbon. There's not a lot better than some fine Kentucky bourbon with a cube of ice.

Ya that's the one. They have a lot of singles if I remember correctly. Just pick something where the bottle looks interesting, you can't really go wrong. Avondale brewery in Birmingham has some good beer if you are ever that way. I really like their battleship IPA.

Sweet water 420 and IPA
Abita Andygator
Newcastle
Sierra Nevada
Modelo Negro

Are the more common beers i drink when I am just running into the gas station for a 12 pack

A single solitary cube or just the tiniest splash of water. It doesn't work as well with whiskey, I've found, but with Kentucky bourbon it's just about the nicest thing there is

I'll be moving to Bham next month and I plan on going to Avondale soon.

Drinking a Goose Island Summetime now. It's okay. Not anything special.

Look up Hop City in Birmingham. It's on 3rd Avenue s. If it's convenient, it's the newest store for Hop City Atlanta. Amazing selection.
