I'm confused. Isn't that what you just did?

Most college towns are liberal.

Nothing like a good "lib bashing" by mouth breathers who reinforce each others' ignorance.

Voter ID laws have supressed the black vote. Just ask Stonehog

Most major universities create a liberal mindset in their city. College kids are away from their parents and making decisions on their own for the first time.

Actually large university towns aren't much different politically than metro areas with big minority numbers. Both areas are very dependent on govt. assistance....and largely Democrat...go figure.

Quick facts from census...
LINK
Athens-Clarke:
Median Household Income- $33,060
White- 66%
Black- 27%
Hisp- 10%
Oconee County:
Median Household Income- $75,004
White- 89%
Black- 5.4%
Hisp- 4.6%
Despite the numbers, we are talking about the same place, the only difference between Athens-Clarke and Watkinsville/Oconee is what side of the river you live on.
Funny how you cross one bridge and have such a difference of socioeconomic status. In my Dennis Hopper voice from True Romance- "This shite fascinates me".

That's fine but most college students don't vote in the district their college is in, at least around here. They vote absentee in their parents' district. Usually. There are exceptions.
The student population of Athens isn't the reason it's a blue dot on the poli-sci map.
