Every fricking year I have to leave town to visit family for Thanksgiving and I end up missing all of the best football games of the season.

It’s wivalry week. I want to sit on my own recliner in my own house with my own TV while drinking beer and ordering something out to eat

Instead I got to deal with stress of travel, all kinds of kids and shite and dealing with family members who I only talk with once a year which is awkward a large frick

This weekend should be a 100% bye week for college football

Your family doesn’t watch football together?
I thought that was part of thanksgiving?

It's the worst holiday out of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Always cloudy and cold, depressing food, depressing family members, depressing NFL football.

It just doesn't have any magic compared to the other two big holidays. I've hated if since I was a kid

Atleast you have a family my brother.
Many of us don't have much of an actual family to enjoy these days with. I wish I were working for it to be honest.

It's not that bad, man.

Turkey tastes good and the weather is cool and crisp. Plus, it's the smartphone era so you can watch and wager on games from your phone!

Same here. Hate it. Except it's one of the few holidays where I don't have to buy gifts.

This tool is useful at this time of year. You need a wing man for this though. My brother in law is my wing man. If one of us sees the other “engaging” unnecessarily like arguing with a family member about whatever it may be, your wingman is supposed to either verbally or by signal tell you to “Disengage”. At this point you should disengage.

If you fail to “Disengage”, and choose to continue engaging, then your wingman goes to level 2 and signals to you “WHAT ARE YOU DOING???”.

At which point you collect yourself, realize that it doesn’t matter, and ask yourself, “What the hell am I doing???” and hopefully disengage resulting in life being easier for you and your wingman in the environment you find yourselves in.

I just laughed out loud. Seriously though, as others have said, enjoy your family while you can even though it is tiresome. It will be gone before you know what happened. Try and have a Happy Thanksgiving

I feel you on this....I'm the ONLY person who cares about football in the while damn house. I'll show up and the TV will be turned on to a frickin iron man movie marathon or some shite...I'll find time, steal the remote change it and if I move to do anything someone will go...why this on?? Is there a movie?? And change it to something that they'll passively watch until I repeat the process..frick...rant over

Yeah, but women are always expected to go to those things. You are a woman, aren't you?
