My water oaks still have some leaves. The Red Oaks have hangers usually until the new leaves shoot in the spring.

re: What city in Italy?

Rome is dirty. But with 4 million residents and being over 2000 years old how can it not be. Parts of it are crumbling.
Still, it is the greatest city on Earth for history, art, and experience. You can walk where the apostles walked. There are priceless statues in common churches. And, if you know were to go, you can eat very well.
I'd skip Venice and do 4 days in Rome (with a day trip possibly) and 3 in Florence (with a day trip possibly)
Patrick Reed’s win over Spieth and Fowler wasn’t much fun either

Alaska.
Do not underestimate the resourcefulness of most homeless. A lot of the true addicts would likely die in this scenario but many would make it back. Their mental illness helps them overcome many things that would break most of us, including the cold.

re: Lisbon Portugal and Beyond?

3 days in Lisbon, rental car to Algarve for 6 days, drive over to Seville, Spain for 2 days, drive back to Lisbon and catch a train to Porto for 2 nights. Spend the last night in Lisbon for an easy trip to the airport. All of the above in less time and aggravation than it takes on a normal drive from Baton Rouge to Houston.

I've heard a lot of things about Lane but I have never heard about him missing a meeting. From what I have been told, his work ethic was solid. Miserably hungover and pale as a ghost, but always there.

re: Lake Garda and/or Lake Como

Prefer Garda. Como is exceptional with probably a better option for high-end hotels but I felt like I was visiting an Italian Tahoe at times with all of the old Americans around.

There are Germans and traffic at Garda can be bad as the comment above states, especially in heavy summer months, but driving along the Western shore is a blast. The scenery at the Northern end of the lake is more dramatic.

Recall from a post years ago. It’s a problem. I can remember Lonnie Utah’s favorite movie but not my secretary’s birthday or where my keys are.

Go watch Strangelove
You know it is a bad day when the only green on your board are the 2 stocks that you'd forgotten about because they have seemingly been stuck on red for weeks: SCHD and MTDR
My Aunt lived in several hotels in NYC over a 15 year + period of her life. She mostly drank Scotch, bitched about the doormen, and counted her money, though.
Mine passed in 2023. Weighs a ton. I couldn't part with it so I use it for storage for things like light bulbs.
As someone who has only dealt with this stock straight up, I understand if I’m not invited to the party if this lands on 300. But since I bought a healthy portion back when it was 30 and then 50 and then 80 can I at least buy a round for the degenerate gamblers that do attend?
I get the fattest guy in the foursome to walk right up to it and get a close look.
“Their is reports…..”
Maybe it is time we switch to Spanish as a nation.

re: SCHD or SPYD for dividend ETF?

I’ve been debating about bailing on SCHD for a long time. The one thing that’s kept me from doing so is that it doesn’t rely on Technology companies which I am heavy on throughout my portfolio
