Asparagus done the right way is amazing. One of my favorite recipes for asparagus calls for roasting pecans in butter in a saucepan, then adding some orange juice and zest. Then you add partially cooked asparagus to the sauce and saute until they're just barely done. Fantastic.

I'm not a big Outback fan though. If I'm going to eat steak, I prefer to have it done at home. There are a few places I'll order it, but not many.

I am so dehydrated. I can't keep water in for more than 10 minutes before shitting it out.

Lesson learned.

I feel your pain. If the intensity of your diarrhea doesn't moderate within the next few hours, you should consult your doctor. You have salmonella poisoning. The diarrhea is your body's way of excreting the bad food quickly.

The culprit is a toxin the bacteria give off as a product of their growth. The toxin is not modified by the heat of cooking but the bacteria are usually killed. If, however, the chicken was undercooked, you may have ingested a large enough dose of live bacteria to cause major problems, especially if you're older.

I hope you feel better soon.

Couldn't tell you the last time I ate a steak at a restaurant. I can cook a better one at home for half the price and have it cooked exactly how I want it. Even at the nicer steak houses I'm usually disappointed

yup this

And you went to a steakhouse chain on Father's Day too. Prayers sent. That had to be a clusterfrick.

Outback is okay for what it is. If I want a good steak though it's either a local place like Palermo Viejo (the Ruth's Chris here is terrible) or just cooking it at home.

And I love asparagus. Had some the other night roasted in the oven on 400 degrees for about 15-20 mins. Cut off the hard part of the stock ends, coat lightly in olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, and sea salt then spread flat on a cookie sheet before throwing in the oven.

I like Outback. Large portions, both the steak and chicken are fine. Good desserts. Pretty inexpensive.

It has been several years since I have been to one since it is not a place I would prefer to take a date, but Outback and Roadhouse used to be a couple of my favorites to pick up a to go order when I lived near both.
