A donut has 1 hole. A straw is just a long donut.

A donut without a hole is a danish.

But the hole in a donut only has one rim. A straw has two rims. Not saying you're wrong, just something to think about.

Technically a donut has zero holes, it's a cylinder that happens to wrap around to itself.

A straw has a hole within the holes.

A donut definitely has two rims just like a straw

I guess it depends on the pinch point. Now I'm wondering if a donut has any holes at all.

So, if doughnut holes do not exist, are these imaginary treats still bad for you?

Because I ate all of them.

It has one distal hole and one proximal hole.

I guess.

Unless you turn it around, and then it has one distal hole and one proximal hole.

I guess I could also have an entrance hole and an egress hole.

Also why do we call the little balls that come from the doughnut center "doughnut holes" rather than doughnut balls?

You cannot eat a hole. A hole is empty space

This is another question to ponder.

Actually it depends on how the donut is constructed. If you start with a cylinder of dough, then wrap it to make both ends meet, then there is no hole, BUT if you take a piece of dough, flatten it out, then punch the middle out, you most definitely are left with a hole!

I say you can, but the residue is simply....another hole.
