Any of y'all ever check out The 100? Nothing amazing but I've enjoyed the first two seasons.

Been eyeing it but hadn't watched it yet.

Just started travelers and I've watched 4 episodes in a row now. Very good show.
I just started watching it last weekend and am 5 episodes in. I'm definitely liking it more than I was expecting to like it.

Friday night lights. Really good series. You will probably see characters that remind you of people you know from the past or present.

Not sure how far into Peaky Blinders you are, but it's worth throwing on subtitles (which is an option with Netflix), especially since you like to read, anyway.
Black Mirror is really good as well, though if you're not into current technology and social media trends, that might not resonate as much.
If you're into culture, travel, and food; watch Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. Guy is an essayist at heart, and each show is basically a beautifully written creative non-fiction essay on a country/city. Really good stuff.
It looks like you've already found Breaking Bad as well... Mad Men is also really good, and something your wife will most likely enjoy.

currently watching The Colony. It's an aliens-take-over-the-world sci-fi series. There are lots of good sci-fi movies and series on Netflix. Enjoy.
Right up my alley. I will give it a try. Been reading lots of sci-fi books and books on physics and astronomy the last 5 years. I don't know what the tube has to offer on those but any suggestions are appreciated.

Totally tangential: but have you read Seveneves by Neal Stephenson? If you like physics heavy SCIENCE fiction, you'll love it. Dense as hell, but it's awesome.

Your interests in science seem to closely parallel mine. While Netflix, Amazon and Hulu offer some good documentaries on physics and astronomy, the gold mine is located at YouTube Red.
There is an unending supply of quality documentaries about artificial intelligence, quantum physics, relativity and all other aspects of science. There's some garbage, too, but you quickly learn to filter it out of your selections.
YT Red is a subscription version of YouTube. You can get a lot of the same content on the free version but the commercials will drive you crazy and discourage you from exploring the vast knowledge base that's available.
The other services that I mentioned are great for entertainment but YT Red is a giant online video library that has no equal. Google owns it now so you know it's just going to get even better. With a YT Red subscription you also get Google Music and YT Music. I think YT Music is the better of the two because when you find a song you like, it will continue to play music similar to it. Other music services will do that, too, of course, but YT Music seems to do it better, at least for me.

quote:Yes absolutely! His Parts Unknown is also very well done. Bourdain is incredible at relating to others because he knows so much about culture. While many say his expertise is food I'd say it's actually human relations. And that says a lot about a widely regarded top 5 chef in the world.

I did indeed read seveneves. It took my dumbass until the space disaster to figure out why he titled it seveneves. I enjoyed the book despite so much death and destruction.
