Two reasons:
1. There's fewer of us than most other states in the South.
2. There's a lot of Church of Christ (myself included) who generally believe alcohol is sinful. (Though I do not hold that view.)

Drinking is for people who want to use poison to escape reality.

I like the buzz, but it does give me a break from stress for a little while. Cheaper than a shrink I reckon. But in moderation. Too much of a good thing in anything, anything can be detrimental.

Drinking often leads to premarital fornication brother, it’s a sin.

That’s a fact, I remember it…..
Lord forgive me, it’s been a while though so is there a statute of limitations for Heaven?

New Hampshire maybe has a lot of sales because bordering states buy a lot from there. I've heard there's something about their liquor laws and they have crazy good liquor stores that people travel to. Not to mention they're in new england where they drew state lines back when people rode on horseback for primary transportation so all of the new england states add up to 1 big state honestly, kind of a joke we still keep them all separate in this day and age.

The state of Georgia and particularly the Metro Atlanta area is a region of serious business interests not known elsewhere in the south outside of east Texas (Dallas and Houston). The folks who make those interests function are serious people who do not tend toward such things as drinking excessively and other destructive activity. It may be boring but when adults are adulting they tend to be focused....unlike most of the south where alcohol is needed to escape the drudgery of living in areas nearly unfit for human existence....

Not this one though I have cut back to only drinking on days that end with a Y

I feel like there's a minor correlation there.
I think it is better that we drink less, rather than more.
I mean, I drink way too much, but still only a couple nights a week at most.

I'm surprised Bama isn't one of the lowest. Bible belt, dry counties, limited population...figured we'd be one of the lowest consuming states.
But we do have a lot of reason to celebrate with all these championships we win :o
