The Asians?

An astute answer.

Don't say Jews, though. Sleeping Tiger will slither his way in.

I'm on to them. Think they can just go building railroads all willy nilly.

I agree money is the ultimate equalizer, but for much of the black community in the area in which I live, the jobs weren't available for them to make that money. 1965 is not that long ago.

Everyone is born with an equal opportunity. There shouldn't be any excuses nowadays with all the government aid out there. How much money did the government giveaway in Pell grants?

Equal baseline would be the proper term. You can go as far as you're willing to work these days.

Not really a fair statement. People born into poverty will have to work infinitely harder to get out of poverty than someone born into the middle class or higher will have to work to ascend. Also, they don't have the same opportunities to learn that it's even possible to transcend the class you were born into. It's not always about willingness to work so much as it's about opportunity to work.

I don't think anyone can disagree with this.

I'm a foreigner in this country, I don't even speak the language but I get shite done.

I teach self-defense and English. Lately I've been catering (only had a few parties) but I do whatever I can to ensure that I have enough money to make it.

Work hard, you will do well.

Do something illegal in the United States, it will follow you everywhere as it should.

Yeah that's probably a better way to put it.

Thanks RebelGator

I agree with you for the most part. Living out here has made me change my opinion a bit. It's really strange, and not at all what I was accustomed to growing up.
