White people don't say this because they don't have to.

Are you sure she didn't do it for equality? If she didn't, she may have marched for the wrong reasons.

They don't say it because the consequence of saying "White Pride" has been demonstrated in this thread.

It's automatically attributed to racism.

This is similar when Germany shows even an ounce of Nationalism as opposed to, let's just say, America.

History has caused whites to back away from skin color (for good reason) and the rest of America needs to get on the boat. The more people focus on race, the more it's going to be an issue -- even if the focus is positive or negative.

I often ask myself

Whats the difference between a proud white man and a proud black man?

Why does white guilt exist?

I listen to Steve Harvey on the radio and DL Hughley as well. I like to consider myself open minded in the context of race and I try to be objective. If there was a radio show that ran like Steve Harvey by a white person in similar context to that white persons race everyone would say that person is a racist. In modern times, it's ok to be a proud black man that has a radio show that not only expresses this but makes it the primary premise of the show. If a white man were to host a radio show and parade his whiteness and how proud he is of it...I have a feeling he wouldn't last very long.

And I suppose I understand the notion that "Whites don't need to say it", but the fact remains: IF they do say it, a white person is immediately demonized.

There may be too much "rocking" going on, though, and whites are starting to revert a little bit because there's been such a massive focus on race by minority groups.

Disagree with President Obama? Clearly you're a racist.

Disagree with Affirmative Action? Check your privilege, Angry White Male.

The more people try to invalidate whites by skin color, the worse this is going to be going forward.

Look, I agree we need to look past race and sex in this day and age. However, we wouldn't even be having these conversations if white men of previous generations hadn't deemed themselves superior to everyone else.

I've heard this stated and I still can't wrap my head around it. I wouldn't vote for Obama because we agree on very little politically. I've listened to the blowhards that talk about the very thought of being a republican is racist and is intentionally trying to keep the black man down. It's quite frankly a way to end a discussion. How can you have a serious conversation with someone if that's the kind of shite they regurgitate. As for affirmative action and hiring female practices....I can't say I am against it. I think everyone should get a fair shake but I don't think a person that is more qualified for a position should be looked over because that person happens to be white but I do think a black person applying for any position should get a fair shot. I think that is probably how AA came about is because of people like Donald Sterling. White men have the power because they hold the funding and obviously at the lowest level of society and even middle class that isn't our fault.

Are you saying then, that a white has no business marching with blacks due to equality?

The problem was focusing on the superiority of race.

The solution is getting beyond judging a person by their skin color.

Things like "White Privilege" are a perfect example of focusing on a behaviorism (in this case, a negative one) tied solely to skin color.

No doubt people were discriminated on and that was wrong, but it's even worse to continue saying things like: I am a proud black woman.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Any person who utters a prejudiced remark should be judged in the same way. If a white person receives derision for saying "I am proud to be white" (I think it's silly to be proud of skin color overall) then I think it should be equally condemnable for a person of any skin color to say this.

Similarly with racial epithets. Trayvon Martin said "Creepy arse cracker.", if Zimmerman had said: "Sneaky coon.", it wouldn't be defended, it'd be universally condemned.

But, Martin says it and people automatically come to his defense.

"It's apart of his culture."

"It's not racist, it's just how 'those people talk'."

Double standards are a great catalyst for starting race wars, especially when it spans several decades where the people being demonized are not the ones who specifically accosted the other side.

And this is exactly what this new "privilege" movement is about.

Disagreement by a white male is an automatic sign that he has no capacity to empathize and his opinion should not be taken seriously.

However, if the white male agrees, then he is automatically considered a valid source.

It's literally just a way to shut down discussion and not consider anything from whites regarding race.

Pot meet kettle. In these types of threads, you pretty much tell anybody who disagrees with you that they are wrong.
