Hey guys. I decided to cut my cable off since all we do is stream and watch youtube at my house. Going to save around $1,100 a year but that’s beside the point. I’m gong to need to have something in place to watch SEC football and football in general this fall. Have any of you guys cut the cord? Looking for the best options for football this fall other than cable. Thanks

I’ve got Roku with Sling and the Sling sports package, $25 per month that includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and SEC Network. I also have an HD digital antenna that allows me to pick up ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. You can get a high quality antenna for less than $40.

Download watchESPN on your Xbox and find somebody that still has cable to let you log in with their provider.
For football games on network channels like CBS just get a digital antenna

This is what I did, but Sling had a deal last year on Apple TV’s and I went that direction instead of Roku. I’ll never go back.

Like others have said I have the Sling, Roku, Digital Antenna set up. I also have an apple tv but only use it to stream stuff from my itunes library. I like Roku and even firesticks more than apple tv.

I tried a free trial for Sling once and the live tv feed was so bad it was unwatchable

That sounds like a connectivity issue. With a solid internet connection, that shouldn't be a problem.

Never had any problems with internet speed or connection when I was living there, although I know it was a shitty spot for satellite service. Before that Sling trial my dad was going to pay for a Dish subscription for me for football season as a birthday present and when the tech came out he told me there was nowhere he could hook up the dish on my apartment where it would get decent signal, but if my apartment had been facing the parking lot instead if the tree line I would have been good.
Never had any problems streaming live from watchESPN or Hulu or any other app

On a whole other board, in a thread I thought the sarcasm would be obvious in. Didn't think you'd continue it here
See this is what happens when you spend too much time in a thread like that, you start producing estrogen and can no longer handle jokes
How sad

Sling has gotten a lot better since 2016 streaming-wise.
DirectTV has a streaming option (app) now that’s good, also. I tried it, but I’ve gotten so used to Sling it’s tough to change.

Cut the cord two years ago and haven't looked back. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Cable and satellite are so 20th century.

We want to cut the cord. Our biggest concern, and the only thing that we really watch outside of current streaming services, is the ability to stream sports. We have Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu.
Between us, we watch college sports, all major Atlanta sports, the PGA, the Capitals and the Redskins. We're concerned that we won't be able to pick up all of the sports that we watch with streaming services.

I've got Amazon Fire box/sticks, PSVue live tv service (up to 6 devices watching at the same time) core package with the extra sports stations. HD antennas as well for local stations.

I too have this a like it a lot. The only problem I've encountered is that you cannot watch 2 different ESPN network games at the same time. Since Sling calls all the ESPN networks their "orange" package you can only view one at a time.
Seems like they would find a way to charge $5 dollars to be able to resolve this but I haven't found it.
Now if you're into the PAC12 or Big12 and watch a lot of Fox FS1 FS2, Fox regional, etc games then you're in luck, because you can watch 3 different things at the same time on those networks.
