Costco. Better quality. No Walmart brands is good enough for my business.

I'd have to agree. The Kirkland Brand products give the nod to Costco.

I belong to both and shop at both.

Costco seems to be a bit higher priced, and some of the kirkland products seem of good quality.

I think Sams has good quality on their brand stuff as well. I buy from both. Sams is closer to where I live, so I get to there more than Costco, wold shop at Costco more if it was closer to me.

I've been a member of both and never really noticed a huge difference in the 2. I'd join the one more convenient to your home/office. If they are the same convenience, I did like Costco a little better mainly because the Kirkland store brand is a little better than the Sam's store brand. The Sam's here in Birmingham does seem to get better meats though.

I've had both memberships, even concurrently at one point. Costco was nice, but seemed a bit more expensive.

I only have a Sam's membership now. There wasn't enough appreciable difference between the two to warrant driving the extra miles to the Costco.

I buy all of my meat from either Sams or Costco. Sams puts more on sale than Costco, and I'm very happy with what I get from Sams. Their prices are a bit better as well.

A few years ago I was talking to the manager of the meat department at Sam's and he said they often got steaks that were meant for the nicer steakhouses in town that were past their fresh date or something. He said there was no way to tell them apart though once they were in the case, and it was completely random when they'd get them.

Had memberships to both...Costco's name brand (Kirklands) > Sam's. Dropped Sam's membership two years ago.

Costco's sample day is better than Sam's. Other than that, as a whole there is no real difference. As others have said, some Kirkland's branded items like clothing and food are better than their Member's Mark brethren, but when it comes to bulk items like paper plates and paper towels you're going to get a better deal on Sam's brands.

We've got memberships to both and simply buy from the one with the best deal for what we need.

Sam's because they are more convenient to get to. Costco locations suck near me.

I was a Costco membership for years. But now I'm in Arkansas, and I'm pretty sure they're illegal here. Costco is much better overall. Better quality and prices are about the same.

Though here in Arkansas, I've noticed that Sam's has remodeled a bunch of their stores to not resemble Costco. It's pretty obvious they realized Costco is better aimed at families instead of small business. That's why Costco has been growing at a much faster rate. But with the improvements. The gap has narrowed between the two. But there's still a gap.

Kirkland is better than Sam's brands.

The main thing that daws me to Costco is that the pay better and seem to treat their employees better than Sam's.

I think it probably depends on your area. The Sams here have gone to shite, but so have the Walmarts so I'm sure there's a correlation in that when it comes to area management.

Costco here is significantly better than Sam's. And in better, more convenient locations.
