Just a reminder to call your mom and tell her you love her. I got to do that for the last time this weekend before she passed away.
I miss her terribly but I know she is finally cancer free.
Sorry to post something depressing but I am not depressed. Just grieving.

Not going to hijack your thread with my misery but I'm living in the fallout of my Mom's unexpected and rapid passing also from Cancer a little more than a year ago. It fricking sucks. Nobody will ever love you like your Mother and once they're gone you will never be able to replace it.
I am so so sorry for your loss.

Very wise words. It's easy for those of us blessed to have healthy moms to take it for granted and forget that they won't always be here.
I'm so sorry for your loss and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear about all of your losses. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when I lose a parent. Hope you get flooded with good memories of your mothers.

Sorry for your loss SECdragonmaster. I'm sure it hurts bad, but remember all the times you had and be thankful for her love who made you who you are.

I hate to hear that you lost your mother OP, and anyone else in here that has. No words can truly comfort you, but as you said-she is now cancer and pain free.

I understand what you are going through. When my father passed away in January of last year it was after five years of constantly being on oxygen 24 hours a day. The last 18 months he was alive he was in the hospital ER 18 times.
Sometimes a person is ready to go.
My condolences to you and your family. If you ever need folks to talk to remember we'll be here.

So sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. Just remember she is no longer suffering and smiling while looking down on you.

Thanks so much to everyone for the kind words and prayers. I know in my head that it’s better she is not suffering but I just miss her smile.
There is something special about a mother’s love.

I have said for years that I want to sit down with my parents and video conversations with them about their childhood, experiences and old family stories. Your post has reminded me of the frailty of life and has inspired me to finally take action and do it.
Thank you for sharing with us. I am so sorry for your loss. "Missing her terribly" reinforces what a strong bond you shared with her. You were truly blessed to have had that kind of relationship.

It's sad that no one does this much. We have old reel-to-reel recordings of one of my great grandfathers in which he talks about growing up in the late 1800's and early 1900's in the Mid-South. It is like listening to a history novel.

My family has old reel-to-reel recordings of my great uncle playing the banjo and singing songs from the 1920s and 30s. It's like a time capsule.

Sorry for your loss, but great advice. My mom has been dead now for 24 years, and I think about her every day.
