I'm late to the party, but damn....
Anybody else watch that show?

Decent. But completely joyless. Even the heavy shows (Breaking Bad, The Wire) have moments of levity.

First season was completely awesome. Second season was pretty good. I didnt bother with the third because the ratings were terrible.

Stop after the first season

It was a fantastic show. I haven't watched season 3 yet, but the consensus on the TV board was that the final two episodes ruined everything. I guess I'll see when I get to them.

That's where I am. Late in season 2. I come from a very dysfunctional family (Nothing like what they go through in the show of course) so it's strangely cathartic. Kevin is awful. He makes me wanna puke.

3rd season disappointed me.

Show is filmed in my back yard. I can basically walk to the set when they are filming

Liked season 1. Only made it a few episodes into season 2 before bailing. Overall, meh.

Don't listen to the people who say "stop after season X", watch the whole thing. Unlike Dexter which went completely off the rails, this show is only 3 seasons so it's not hard to get all the way through relatively quickly. Without getting into spoilers, I will say that the keys ended their filming tax credits (or whatever the hell it is that companies get to shoot there) and it seemed pretty apparent that the writers were told on very short notice that they would need to wrap things up very quickly, which is pretty much entirely to blame with the muddled way the series winds down towards the end.
With that said, it's still engrossing and captivating TV that's worth watching to the end.

*SPOILER*
They killed the best character too early. Show sucked after that.

This is a great point and because of it I'm now reminded why some shows are so much better than others.

Just stop after season two and you won't be disappointed.

Your statement is true but the show and plot would not work if they did not kill him

Season 3 was a disaster.

Every single character has a flaw that is too magnified to like any of them. I found myself liking Danny more than any of them and he's a sociopath.
I got tired of watching the lead character have to think through 17 different tunnels of logic to figure the right thing to do...for all of the others.
The youngest, Kevin, is unbearable. Just unbearable and one of the worst people on the show.
The daughter is hot and you want to like her, but she doubles-down when she should not and then begs for a chance to play when she's clearly out. She may be the most complex character on the show.
Sissy Spacek is awful to listen to and reason with. She plays the same role throughout.
The show has dark and eerie moments, but above all, like another poster said, it does not compare with the recent greats which it attempts to stylize (Breaking Bad, for instance). There is little to no humor. This is a show that needs it badly.
At best, it will definitely appeal to the viewer who also has a large, dysfunctional family.
