Layne's has 3 locations now in CStat, and it better than Golden Chick for sure. Cane's can suck my balls.

Not really. Fresh I guess. Batter is bland. Piece sizes have shrunk. The have crinkle fries which is my fav so a plus. Don't personally care for their special sauce. I hate it when a place starts off by stuffing the box of fries, and good size pieces then start to slowly downsize.
Also if you get it to-go they haven't been able to figure out the right box. Moisture builds up pretty bad making the fries super soggy.
Babe's Chicken is solid, but just local DFW chain.

Came here to post this. Birmingham News ranked fried chicken chains a few years back. Publix was at the top. They do it right.

Not really a chain, more like a restaurant with a few locations. Hodak's is similar but prob better

When I go to Slim's I usually go for the Chipotle Ranch, sometimes I'll get some of the Bleu Cheese dip as well.

They are starting to branch out. They have a location in Omaha now. Hodak's is solid fare but Stroud's is better IMO.
