A lot of these picks are suspect, as is the site as a whole. I think their justification on Valley was something about cost of living and poverty being low or something.

Florida - Naples. No contest whatsoever.

I've never been to Batesville Arkansas.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid the metrics are for creating these lists.

Well, it is cheap, and everyone in the town is poor, but not that many live below the actual poverty line.
It is just not a good place.

Morrisville isn’t a fricking city.
It’s a small town, basically RTP.
A suburb of Raleigh and Durham.
That place sucks rather live in Raleigh Durham or CH if I’m in that area

How are some of these places called cities?
This list should just be called “best suburb to live outside of a city”

There are some nice homes on Lake Harding but that's really outside of Valley.
I inherited a home on the lake and renovated the place
and made the mistake of listing as a FSBO...God almighty,I met some strange people.

Indiana: Jasper
Not like anyplace in Indiana is a good place to live but Jasper is a slight step above Gary. Certainly not the best.

Also, Tega Cay is nice.
Suburb of... Charlotte.
It's not a city. (TC that is)

Yep. Batesville won in Arkansas because its dirt cheap to live there. Meanwhile the cities of NW Arkansas, which fight it out for a spot in the top 5 nicest places to live in America every year, don't make the cut.
Its like if an article picked Grand Central Station as the nicest place to live in New York City because you can sleep on the benches for free and sometimes people throw away half eaten pieces of pizza you can dig out of the trash.

Batesville is a nice town.
These kinds of lists are kinda ridiculous to begin with. I mean, best place to live for who? What if I'm independently wealthy or am retired? If that's the case, the best town in Arkansas for my money is Jasper.
If I'm looking for a good place to set up a small business, the best place is obviously NWA, which has one of the fastest growing populations on the entire country and routinely makes the nation wide best places to live lists.
As I said, Batesville is nice, but there are way nicer places in Arkansas. WAY nicer places.

every time is see NWA i think people are talking about these guys;

I used to think the same thing.
