I still post over at RTB. There are a couple of guys left from the original group from TideSports, and there are a few left from the Woolly days.

Now most have gone missing though : (

I think a couple of the old timers are over at that bamaredsports or whatever its called. BillBrosky, Chechem, etc.,

When I post over at RTB I definitely make sure I watch what I say, and keep it strictly business for the most part.

When I started posting here I thought it was lax, but after having been banned for having used a cartoon characters name I guess I have no idea what the hell is going on anymore.

If I remember right, it wasn't as much you using Cornholio, it was how hard you were bashing Cornwell. Maybe that is the mods boy or something.

Normally, I would ignore this type of thing, but your post seems reasonable. You didn't get nasty, and for the most part, you accurately represented what went down.


1. We don't have an email address, so I'm not sure what you sent, or to whom. I did, however, see your request to add you back. I fully intend to do that once the two weeks is up.


2. You once, some months ago, lamented that the SECR Bama Board was not more "wild west" like Wooly Al. We might not be like Wooly Al, but I'd like to think we're pretty laid back. We welcome posters from other teams. You don't have to be a sunshine pumper. In fact, those people get on my nerves. I have, on a number of occasions, defended fellow Bama fans who were criticizing a player and being called out by the pumpers. We allow posters to criticize the coaches and players, and that's not changing while Alahunter or I are mods.

So while we welcome criticism of performance, coaching, etc., it crosses a line when it becomes personal, especially towards a current player. I realize you don't think it crossed that line.


4. Why did you get kicked? It wasn't so much the continued use of the nickname after I asked you to stop as it was your reaction to those of us who found it in poor taste.

Even still, I admitted that it might be an overreaction to kick someone just because of a nickname, so I locked that thread and asked that we all just move on. Something you refused to do. You carried your comments over into another thread. There were 8 days between that original dust up and the post that got you kicked. EIGHT. Speaking of that post, in which you continued to push the cornholio thing, you also posted this:

If you post something and people take offense, that's ok. Unless it's in poor taste, I'll probably be right there backing you up. But what you can't do is continually ridicule and taunt people who disagree with you. Then you're no better than the pumpers who want to shame others into silence when they have something less than glowing to say about the team.

That's what got you kicked.

So, to recap, no I'm not a "Respect My Authori-Tiii !" type. I'm not sensitive. I don't dislike you. In 12 days, I will welcome you back with open arms. If you can refrain from bashing people who may have a different opinion than you, you'll be fine.

I should have been above it, but I generally have no patience for grown men that use words like "offensive" while visiting a football message board.

(I indeed feel that my original post was reasonable, and not some horrific, psychologically scarring for the weak minded comment. No one should have been "offended" by that IMO)

The second cornholio in the other thread where I got the boot I thought was pretty funny. I guess I have a kind of dark since of humor that can be sometimes misunderstood. In fact re-reading my post about the "offended" men acting like little girls with skint knees, and their ice cream stolen well... I guess if you didn't know me better you would think that was nothing but a shot at someone, but honestly I was merely trying to make light of the situation. Again probably a joke I should not have made under the circumstances with the people involved. My bad.

I appreciate you showing up here to hash it out though. I dont agree with the banning, but its your forum, and I can see I was pushing the limits for a few of the regulars so I respect your decision.

I apologize for any inconveniences, and look forward to re-joining the forum soon. I can't promise I wont step on any sensitive toes in the future, but I can promise I will take you seriously when you tell me youre gonna ban my arse.
