Last year the SECr introduced a new poll type system where a handful of selected posters were asked to rank the SEC teams and provide a brief description for their team.
However, this year I've noticed they've added more and more to it such as previews and what not. Which is turning posters into more of a blogger.
How many of these are unbiased? I know the people in charge claim their is no biased nature in this and there is an open communication, however, after being a part of it last year that is false.
Not to mention it started off as a small group of posters, now they have so many I'm not even sure the people in charge know who is voting.
For football last year it was supposed to be 2 voters per team which morphed into 3-4 voters per team when a voter didn't get his or her vote in on time.
So why not make this open to the public anyway?

Do you take these previews/rankings t=with a grain of salt? Do you think they are accurate?

Hell, everything 'preseason' is just educated guessing.
There will always be some unexpected exceptions.
Some player will come out of nowhere, some will not meet expectations, most will do about what is expected.
Same with teams.
It's all just somebody's 'best guess', sometimes with a little too much optimism for their own team.

I wouldn't say they're pointless. There's going to be some bias when you have a fan of a team writing it up but I think overall they've been pretty informative in terms of personnel at least.

As CNB said, it's shite to read. I'd rather be reading fans giving info on their respective teams then "What Game of Thrones house is your team?".

Well none of this has to do with anything asked outside of the title.....

I think you should go hit on Coastie again and start repeating her lies again. It's about all you bring here anyway

The previews are not really my thing, but each their own.

CNB doesn't seem like the type to post on Political Talk.

Actually Semo and Nino encouraged a bit of homerism. They wanted it to reflect the fan base personality.

As I said, I was a member of the voting committee last year and opted not to do it this year because it went from being a 5-10 minute process to like a 30 minute.

Then I'm not sure why keep the posters a secret when you have what seems like 5-6 posters per team anyway (minus Vandy of course)

Sounds like you didn't get selected. Sorry bro, better luck next year.

I'm curious about two things though.

I hadn't seen this claim unless you're talking about the voting instead of the preview. As UM said, showing your "personality" was encouraged in writing the previews. And honestly, whether you included the whole Rant or a handful of Ranters there's going to be some natural bias. You could say that for any poll involving humans.

IMO it's still a small group of posters in comparison to the numbers in each fanbase (sans maybe UK and Vandy). And having seen who the voters are it's a solid group and chosen by their respective team board folks.

Given the current populace of the Rant, if you think power rankings are biased with the handful of posters chosen it'd be a shitshow with everyone voting.

I'm not saying it's a perfect system by any means. But I just don't see why it has your jimmies rustled so bad.

Not angry, I just joxied over the years and I know you repeated her lies verbatim about me. which in essence makes you as bad as her and I could really be a dick but I'll leave it at that.
