re: Are the team previews pointless?

Well, sorry you thought it was too time consuming and not worth the effort. Semo and I saw an opportunity to do something new and fun(for the people writing at least). At the very least, they dilute the number of flame/troll threads on tRant with something of substance.

It's something for the fans to read during the offseason. That's what the whole site is about after all. If you don't want to read them, then it's pretty easy to ignore.

As for the actually Power Rankings, it's still 2 votes per team and 2 guest votes from tRant. We have substitute voters in place in case someone misses, but those will only be used when necessary. And yes, Flesh had the same issues to deal with last year

I liked the idea of the SECr when it started because the Tiger Rant would become cluttered and it became crazy after Saban went to Alabama. However, I'm not sure it has fulfilled the original expectations of what Chicken wanted when he created it either.

No idea is ever going to meet every expectation or account for every change in tenor that ever comes along. Things tend to take on a life of their own. Don't like it? Don't participate.

The SECr is full of idiot for the most part anyway which is why I've learned to avoid it after years of being one of the most active people on it.
