You can't count NOVA as VA. It's really DC.

Tidewater through Richmond to Petersburg up to Lexington over to Roanoke is very southern.

We have it all really from southern to redneck to hillbillies out in the western mountains.

VA is not the north. I will c-punch you.

Visited Baltimore and went to Camden yards for a baseball game...before we went we ate at a restaurant and I ordered crab cakes and they were fricking 9 bucks a piece.

they also said "you must be from the south, I love your accent"

frick those northern fricks

sidenote : Camden yards is amazing

Oh, you must be an expert then

Durden, I don't disagree with you often, but I do in this case. Most of the state is just as southern as any part of North Carolina. I will agree that it is different than the true deep south (GA, AL, MS, etc.), but that has always been the case and is not a new phenomenon. The same applies to North Carolina. They both have always had more mid-Atlantic characteristics and, let's face it, economic development than other southern states. That can be traced back to colonial roots and the tobacco industry.

NoVa (north of Fredericksburg) is a separate case entirely and should be more associated with DC (or New Jersey) than Va. Frick NoVa.

Never said they were Yankee, just in the listless duldrums with Mizzou.

And DC is not Southern, thereby calling NOVA into question, thereby calling the whole state into question and if you have to question it, it's not Southern.

I am offended by the fact that you associate the good parts of Virginia (Richmond, the mountains, etc.) with NoVa.

When I was little I went to Colonial Williamsburg. I thought I was in New England because of the whole Colonial business. Found out later in life about the history of Virginia and all that. Woops.

Then they should secede form the bad parts so I can welcome them back into the South with open arms

It's not like they haven't done it before

I spent a horrible summer up in Maryland when I was in college playing baseball, and they are without question 100% Yankees.

If you don't consider gulf shores a luxurious vacation you're a yankee.
