Agreed. The decline is real, and will undoubtedly continue until there is no discernible country left.

Sotomayor was a fricking joke. Thats the only one I know but I'm lazy and need a nap. Lmao. I'm seriously considering either getting a 10-99 Jon and just not paying taxes or just quit work all together and start feeling the Bern. frick man, this country is retarded and I don't understand why people want to come here from a shite hole and turn it into the same shite hole they came from.

If the R's allow an Obama replacement.. I'll never vote again.

Be ready to eat those words. Obama will appeal to the masses just like with the shutdowns to make the Rs look like assholes. With it being election year, expect a lot of seats to cave early to avoid the bad press.

If Obama had the balls and the foresight for the good of the country to nominate Condoleeza Rice, then this would sail through.

He's going to nominate a well respected moderate and dare McConnell to block it.

Doesn't have the background for it. I say one of W's appointees to the circuit courts. I would prefer John E. Jones III.

He has a really good opportunity to troll the GOP here. He won't stupidly throw that chance away.

R's don't need Obama to make them look like assholes. That current crop of R's in the House do a bang up job all by themselves.

He won't nominate anyone who wants to see this country flourish.

It doesn't surprise me that you miss the entire point of his judicial perspective. He was the definition of neutral. He would read the argument, and then say something like: "That may all be well and good, but the constitution doesn't allow for it". He didn't care about policy or position or politics. He was a strict interpretationist. Right down the middle.

It's an interesting idea. The constitution has been a real thorn in the side of his idea of governance. He would love the opportunity to get more done as an activist judiciary than he could ever do as President.

And, it would thrust Biden into the presidency, which would give him a chance to leapfrog Hillary and Bernie for the nomination.

The only problem is the Senate wouldn't confirm him.

But, if the Dems had control of the Senate, I think this is a really interesting idea and not out of the realm of possibility.

Of that, it is known. On other sujects such as Citizens United, he fricked us and the constitution. His interpretation is that the Freedom of the press isn't soley about the press, therefore, corporations and big money will not influence politics. Or some stupid shite like that. Hate to see the man bite the big one but he needed to be replaced.

First thoughts and prayers for his family, secondly let's hope we don't get another judge that will pisses all over the constitution, we have enough of them already, RIP Mr Scalia you served your country well.
