Oh, I disagree with this. It doesn't substitute for face-to-face, but you can absolutely get to know someone and learn lots about them by talking on the phone. It's all in the conversation - do you keep it light, or do you actually talk about things that matter?

Facebook chat is good too. Faster response time, and a girl can creep on you while you're flirting. I've angled that in to the second hottest lay of my life. Chick was obsessed with me and way out of my league. Outkicked my coverage like you wouldn't believe.

I haven't read this thread and I'm not talking about dating, but I have an uncle that I actually had to ask to stop sending me text messages. He texts like a 13 year old girl, it is impossible to understand what he's saying.

I actually got a little Bell's Palsy last time I tried to read one of his texts.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've gathered from most of you is that I'm not crazy and that text messaging is not a substitute for actual communication, correct?

Meh, I don't mind texting so much. If it's gonna be a longer conversation I'll call.

I don't think anyone addressed your level of crazy. Yet I think most agree that multiple types of communication are appropriate.

ETA: Are you really expecting the OTB to declare you sane?

Your premise, since you're a silly female, is flawed to begin with. Your expectations for what is even possible from texting is insane. But the crazies make better lays. So keep it up, beautiful. I don't mind.

No you're not crazy but if the guy is against communication other than texting, he's likely not interested. Just sayin'

She is a female, and as such, certain levels of crazy are to be expected. It's genemeticks

Of course it isn't a substitute. 90% of what I gather from a conversation is from voice inflection and physical expressions. You can't get that over a phone, and that's why anything of importance should be handled face to face.

All women are crazy. Some are better at managing it than others.

Fwiw, everyone is crazy. Some people are just crazy in ways that aren't as normal.

The question is how much crazy you're willing to put up with in order to get into her panties. Is it worth the trouble?

Stop stealing my line you bastard.

As far as overanalyzing, I generally try to not take too much stock in what guys try to verbalize (or text for the sake of this discussion). A lot of guys just aren't good at getting their point across.

somewhat true.

I think what girls fail to realize, is that it's hard to comprehend what a girl means/wants. Just be blatant. Subtle hints aren't the answer. At least for me.

Very true. I've caught myself before in conversation and had to correct myself.
