I'm not so sure....She is undoubtedly weaker than 2008. Throw in the fact that you are coming off of an Obama presidency, and I think you have a formula for a Republican to take the White House. Not just any Republican though, there are only a select few that can.

I honestly think that VP candidates (not that they should matter) will play a big part in 2016. GOP has to use VP's to their advantage and get swing states.

Florida is an absolute must for them to have a sliver of a chance, and no GOP candidate has won without Ohio.

I have in mind a combo that could take those states...but I'm not holding my breath.

I think a Paul/Rubio ticket has legs.

That appeals to the libretarians, RINOs, minorities, Florida, conservatives, and a bulk of independents. Obviously it won't win all of those votes, it will carry more than the last 4 P&VP candidates.

Not necessarily the combo I had in mind, but that might work too...Both of those guys could win votes not traditionally picked up by the GOP.

Surprised no one has mentioned Scott Walker yet who is the most likely GOP nominee imo. He's not my favorite but he would make a very strong candidate and could beat Clinton.

Anyone saying Hillary will win this easily is delusional. She isn't likable. She's old. She has a million skeletons. She also is trying to win as a Dem after Obama won the last 2 elections. I could see a dark horse emerging and taking out Clinton, I just don't know who has the guts to run against her amongst the Dems.

The key for the GOP is to nominate someone that is competent and solidly conservative. Mushy moderates don't drive the GOP base to get out the vote and after 2 straight "hold your nose to vote and still lose" candidates they just need to nominate someone that isn't an idiot and isn't embarrassed to be a conservative.

I like Paul and Cruz. Honestly I think Perry would make a very good President but he won't win (Dems hate him mainly because he plays even rougher than they do). I'm fine with Walker. If the GOP nominates Bush or some other moderate they deserve to lose.

I'm really hoping Rubio gets the nomination. He doesnt come with the baggage of guys like Bush and Paul and hasnt given the media nearly as much "lol crazy conservative" ammo as Cruz has.

I've soured somewhat on Rand Paul. His pandering to the social far right is a turnoff. I thought he was playing the politician game but his recent statements of opposition to civil rights for gays and abortion rights for women seem sincere.

I also thought his campaign would appeal to young voters, especially those who have libertarian leanings. That doesn't seem to be the case. Paul isn't speaking to that voting bloc's concerns.

Would vote for any of these, sadly the only one who would have a chance is Walker.

Jeb would be a good prez, but GOP cant run him against Hillary. Rand ... like some of his stuff, but that curly hair probably wont play well. Rubio needs some seasoning. Walker...hmmm, possibly, but seems to try a little too hard. Ben Carson is the man.
BTW, Hillary swallows, and as I pointed out earlier, no one cares

I personally can't wait for the ultimate troll, Hillary Clinton, to become our next prez. This place, especially the political board, will be amazing to witness.

Anyone that votes for Hillary needs a head examine. I'm not wild about any of the R candidates, but all are more stable and trustworthy than her. She's absolutely ruthless with her ambition and has no limits. If she was anyone other than Bill Clinton's wife, she'd be in jail.

I find it most sad that the election is over 1.5 years away and candidates feel they must start fundraising in earnest already.

The British are having a general election in May and the campaign lasts a month. Apples and oranges, but one could dare to dream...
