It could be bad if it helps Odom keep his job. Odom being the head coach at Mizzou next year would be a devastating blow to the football program, maybe even a crippling one. We need the real rebuild to start ASAP post Pinkel. Hire someone good!

You’re creating a narrative for people who aren’t excited with Barry that really isn’t the case.

I was sitting in the stands last Saturday hoping and praying Barry would figure out a way to win a big game. My cousin and I looked at each other halfway through the 3rd quarter and said “This isn’t going to end well.” We had a brief moment of joy when the last play in regulation ended with an incomplete pass. And then just walked out in resignation when we lost.

We don’t want to lose. We don’t want to fire the coach. You still don’t understand that. He’s simply been presented at least 6-8 chances to seize the narrative and change the perception of him. He hasn’t come through.

This is it. There's no hate for Odom. You just get sick of the constant frick ups.

I've already said it. What happens is we go to 5-4. It will be noted that BO finally won a game of any import. It will be his signature win to date. I'm guessing his first win against a ranked team.

I'm still taking my daughter to poetry reading instead of the game the following week. Enough interest to check a score or check a message board. Enough apathy about the team that one win isn't going to get me back to buying tickets. Just don't care enough. It is KA all over again right now. Hopefully BO can get it turned around next year and we're not hoping he changes it in 8 years like people were talking about with KA.

There is nothing guaranteed the rest of the way. Likely? Yes. Not guaranteed though.

When did KA go .500? And when did KA actually have a team that was competitive with any top 25 team?

Odom has been about what you would expect a first time HC to be that got the job 2-3 years too early. I see a coach that’s improving. If Mizzou is really willing to spend to get a proven P5 coach then Sterk should make the move. If Mizzou isn’t and the move is to get someone that you hope is better, then I would rather stay with the guy that’s shown he can at least go .500 and is growing.

Agreed. BO's record is no where near as bad as KA's record was. My apathy levels are about the same as at the end of year 2 of KA. I also think the blind faith espoused by some is similar. I don't remember a KA team going an entire half without scoring. BO didn't have to even score. He just needed a first down.

In other words...shouldn't have been given the job. I do agree though. We shouldn't replace a bad coach with a worse coach.

That says more about you than the program. You probably won’t admit it, but you are perpetually negative. Not a knock, I’ll just assume it’s a character trait.

That can’t be applied to the entire fan base though, hopefully the number who share your view is quite small and most of them just happen to post here lol.

If beating a ranked team on the road won’t move your needle even a little then it probably just isn’t going to be moved much. I’m sure there is a portion of the base that has buried him. Hell, happened awhile back for many year. Hopefully though, it’s not large enough that if the arrow is pointing up at the end of the year that the program can still get the support it desperately needs.

Fire, fire, fire is just not going to work.

Meh, I'm done with the dude. So " Congrats Odom on your first decent win". Who can we get to replace him now.

The board was better off without you.
Nahh, I disagree. He ranks up there with the most insanely naive sunshine pumpers, but he brings a certain flare to the board. I actually enjoy most of his posts even though I disagree with him over Odom.

If we win I’ll acknowledge the victory and congratulate Barry.

You are what your record against good teams say you are at this point, prove us wrong. I was going to go to the game, but a friend of mine who is connected with LSU had an extra ticket and I have never experienced Death Valley. So I will be tailgating full of gumbo and whiskey hoping to see a good win so I can talk a little shite to the homies.

You can tell us about coach O and how the LSU fans wanted him fired last year and the year before. Have fun and get some ideas how Missouri can get better recruits!

First of all it's not if it's "when" we beat Florida. Mizzou wins by a late FG as Florida makes enough mistakes to keep Mizzou close.

So "when" we beat Florida I think Dooley will still look like a bad choice. But it may take the heat off of BO. But in all honesty, by now shouldn't we have a sense of whether he is the right guy? It really shouldn't be a back and forth, and the case for keeping him should be better than "let's just GIVE him 1 more year." He should be EARNING it by now.

Mizzou winning a close SEC game on the road?

I went when we played there a couple years back. It was a great experience. This year’s team with Bama? It will be absolutely electric. Enjoy!!

Tried to get down when we played, but couldn't make it. I will definitely try to take it all in this time around.

Mizzou is supposed to lose

If we lose we are in last place all by ourselves BUT

if we win we are likely TIED for last (unless both Tenner and Vandy win).

which I think is a pretty LOFTY goal. Especially for Odom and staff. And Lefty, and JQ, and Wubli, etc.

So I will be sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited.

If he beats Florida we should all wait to see how he finishes the season. If he loses to Florida we should all wait to see how he finishes the season. There’s still time to get this thing rolling in the right direction and there’s still time to fail. We will know come December
