Played 33 snaps at defensive end. He was Missouri's 4th highest rated defender and had 3 pressures and a sack. Kudos to Sterling and the Dline coaches.

I loved that move. Also, the other DTs did a great job of being disruptive while replacing Webb's minutes inside.

OK but why the move? Was it size on that side, or is the DE depth that bad? Any explanation?

I think it was opponent specific. Florida is an outside zone offense. You have to set the edge vs OZ and Webb stuck the OTs everytime they ran it at him. Woodward, Rodriguez, and Banner were clean all game long.

Florida spent a lot of effort to negate Hopkins which freed up the tackles. Dowell, Simpson, and Gracial worked Florida's interior.

I like the idea of going bigger on the edge against FL's running attack. I was worried Webb might not be fluid enough or move fast enough, but he put those fears to rest. The fact they are an OZ running attack just makes that decision look better.

The D cleaned their tackling up so much. It was like 2 different defenses from the State game to FL.

And we keep hearing Dowell's name a little more each game it seems like. Glad he is stepping up and starting to build DT depth again.

Just saw a TikTok on Dowells play that doesn't show up in the stats. On run plays neither the center or guard could stop him from flowing with the run, preventing a cut into the hole and basically feeding the RB to tacklers. And on passes Donta Simpson was running through paper to the QB.

The DTs should be building alot of confidence
