Strong was a name that crossed my mind too. Where is he now?

I don't want Kiffin but I'd take him over Strong everyday of the week. Strong as proved his ceiling and it ain't the SEC or B12.

Yeah strong would be a bad move. He's only had the USF program ranked the last 2 years, and Texas is winning again with the kids he recruited to make a culture change. Not to mention his success at Louisville. Not to mention he is a high character guy. Wouldn't want 2 high character guys coaching men's basketball and football.

Our program is now in the same league as Indiana, Illinois and just a half step ahead of Kansas. The term "I don't want" does not apply when talking BO replacements. Don't worry about a coaches "Ceiling" when we can't get off the damn floor.

out coach and prepare better than opponents even when sadly outclassed.

This should be the first requirement of any candidate, IMO.

If a coach's first quality is "good recruiter" then that is a hard pass. We need to accept we are a "coach 'em up" school and not a "recruiting" school.

Bob Stoops or nothing. Big Game Bob would enjoy coming to the SEC and beating Georgia, Tenn, Florida, SC, and an occasional west team other than Arkansas.

You jump from one extreme to the other. First you say Mizzou was going to beat Bama. Now we are on par with Indiana/ Illinois and approaching ku level.

Stoops was my first choice 3 years ago and still is. You would have to back the Brinks truck up though to get him out of retirement and roaming the sidelines at Mizzou.

You know what you're right. That wasn't fair to Indiana. They beat us the last time we played. But let's take a look...is the program trending upward like say Iowa State, Purdue or even Syracuse? Nope. I'm a fan, but when you step back and take a unbiased look, we are pretty bad. We dont have a history to fall back on like say Nebraska. We have No conference championships in Big 8, 12 or SEC. Even as great of a job Pinkel did, he really won nothing. We are currently similar to Illinois, Wake Forest, Duke and others that occasionally win the unexpected game but overall not a threat to sustain success.

I doubt Stoops would come here. If he wants to coach again he probably is watching how the Ohio St. situation unfolds.

Last night, I just had the sobering realization that Josh Heupel was the better coach and he did the right thing leaving.

Didn't I hear that Heupel hate recruiting and would not be the one doing the recruiting. That is why the UCF job was perfect for him. Not need to recruit heavy like you do in Missouri. Also UCF almost lost to memphis! Missouri throttled Memphis! UCF won by 1 point and had to do it in the 4th quarter. Missouri won by 32 points! UCF is not that good.

That job might be toxic. A lot of turnover since Woody Hayes called it quits. And he had to hit a Clemson player for that to happen. Big Game Bob might look at the history from Woody leaving to what is going on with Meyer and decide not to coach his birth state university.

They also will be responsible for Missouri not getting a good football team in the near future because of their own behavior have destroyed the football program. I am not kidding. I am seeing it right now. You think any good head coach will want to go to Missouri? I mean not just for 2 or 3 year and then jump ship. I am seeing the same thing what Kentucky went through for 5 years with the same head coach. He did not do any better than 7-5 in those 5 years until this year. I saw improvements from last year and you do not fire a head coach for playing competitive games in all his losses. I am tired of negative attitude among Missouri fans. That is not a good sign when you just want him gone no matter what.
