Leach was willing to go to Tennessee.

I don’t think Leach is the right guy for the job. But he’s not worse than Odom and we’d play some exciting games and win some games we shouldn’t and lose some games we shouldn’t.

If the coaching candidate can apply for AARP and get it, I'm not down with it.
Pick someone young or at least under 50, it really does help with recruiting IMO.
Last night, I just had the sobering realization that Josh Heupel was the better coach and he did the right thing leaving.

I would add Heupel to the list if he is liking to come back.

I mostly mention Leach to show there are head coachs willing to move for money and situation. And you could not be much more toxic that Tennessee was last year.

MR offered at least $5 million per year to 2 coaches the year Odom was hired. Both turned him down. Odom was the best option he had after that.

No, he didn’t. And Hermann doesn’t count.

I would guess he offered Matt Rhule the Baylor position for $5M. Mack wasn’t staying when he hired Odom. That’s one of the many reasons we have Odom.

A lot of stuff got put out during that coaching "Search" that was just flat out lies.

So we are not in the same toxic position now than when Odom was hired. We should now be able to cut ties with him and hire a proven coach or an asst that has true potential. Yeah Mizzou isn't a blue blood, but you can't tell me there isn't guys out there chomping at the bit to coach in the SEC at a school with the potential we have. Mizzou talked a big game about stepping it up when we joined the SEC. It's time to do just that.

I concur with the post above.

I haven't heard this. I have heard that Campbell felt low balled by Mizzou's offer and Rhule turned it down to go to Baylor (probably because Rhoades told him he was taking the job).

Campbell never got an offer because he never wanted to be anywhere but Iowa State.

Then he should have offered 6

For some perspective, $1M is roughly 2500 season tickets.

2500 extra season tickets. Would have been easily made up.
Another way to look at it. Just 16,000 extra single game tickets over the entire season. They will miss out on more than that in the last 2 home games alone due to the poor coaching.
With a legit head coach and wins against SC and UK (I think a good coach would have won the UGA game too but I won't even count that), a record of 6-2, hopes of beating UF to be 7-2, ranked in the top 15. I'd bet the next two home games would have seen an uptick of more than 16,000.

Rhoades is and will always be one of if not the worse AD in MU memory. Thanks for KA.
P.S. Sorry, I forgot the other obvious elephant in the room, BO. But am sure you knew that. All my hope is that Sterk does the right thing. Fire and move on from BO etal and pay what is needed for a program leader who heads the 1 of 2 Midwest SEC schools to a minimum top 10 SEC recruiting classes at least fairly consistently. To all the beaten down so called fans who do not believe this to be possible, shame on you. Not asking for all that much really. Just know what I have been getting is far less.

I think that's why you take Kiffin right now. He gives the program attention and badly needed PR. Right now no one seriously gives a shite about Mizzou because Odom is the most boring HC in history.
You get a guy like Kiffin your program becomes relevant again. I don't think that will ever happen under Odom.
The problem he will jump ship when a better school(s) opens up.
