Won't happen, but I'd be for it.

LINK

He's playing to the KC alumni and making kU look bad. Right now, there is no difference between playing Murray State and kU. If kU was ranked, I don't think he'd even mention it.

I don't mind him making them look bad if that's why he brings it up but otherwise I'm done with them. Moved on. Don't even think about them unless it's brought up. I'd rather play the Nubs. One of the reasons I can only take so much of TB these days is because of the obsession over there with kU.

I understand the kU rivalry was a true rivalry, but I'd rather see the Illinois series renewed. Illinois is the closest fertile recruiting grounds we have and I'd rather kick their arse each year. What does playing kU offer besides satisfying somes need to renew an old rival?

This should get Pinkel fired.

I'd like to see it played again. It's sad to see such historic rivalries simply die so that ESPN can make more money.

I would like to see the game played again. I also approve the less-than-subtle piqueing that Pinkel is using to restart the series. It certainly ticks off ku alumni.

Essentially, I approve of anything that pisses off the jayhawks and/or longhorns.

It was a terrible game. Neither team could get a good crowd for the game at home and only once did ku fans show up in KC. It blows terribly playing games against a school who can't bring more than 5-8k to a football game.

IT WAS a TERRIBLE GAME!

Once again, Coach Pinkel shows he's looking ahead to the future.

Make it a home and home then. It's a shame that you can play every year since Benjamin Harrison was President and all of a sudden stop playing 120 years later

Apparently you didn't take the time to read. I'll repeat. Neither team could produce a good crowd for the "home" games. It was a terrible game. It needed to die because all it did was produce hate.

Still say restart the Illinois game. Got to get in front of those Illinois kids as much as possible. Remind them that there's an SEC in their backyard and that that SEC team is kicking the shite out of that B1G team also in their backyard. The kU game would be for fans IMO and I'm fine with it if they restart it but I think for the program, there are a lot better options.

I agree. Plus, why give kU the football exposure? As is, they have next to none. KC recruits are going to Mizzou, Arkansas, Nebraska, or K-State... not kU so much.

I wouldn't mind playing them again, in football and/or basketball. But it won't happen - their overlords won't let them yet. And, that rivalry was ugly, some more time in there isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't mind renewing the Illinois series again, as someone else pointed out, it's way better recruiting grounds.

I think Pinkel is just trolling them while appeasing KC residents.

Smart.

I agree with killz wholeheartedly. The mizzou administration knows they have to continue to say they want to play kU to appease the KC fans. As is they need to start playing Illinois again in football, that was a much more fun game most years

Even though I reside in KC area, I'd have to agree with this. It makes more sense. Besides, a majority of KU fans don't follow football anyways. They could care less. Illini game makes more sense just for exposure for recruiting.

But.....when it comes to BB. That is where the true rivalry is between Mizzou and KU. It would most certainly be worth the time to renew that game in KC. Thing is, Bill "the chicken heart" Self, would not allow that to happen. We're much too dangerous and they would rather pursue a much lesser non con opponent to pad thier record every year, say some school like, Colorado.

Besides, from what I've seen and heard, the rivalry is as strong today as it ever was. They still hate us and we still want to burn down Lowrents again. We really don't need to play them in anything. We crushed them before leaving the B12 in every sport. We went out on top of them and it drives thier fans crazy. I like that.

KU for basketball, Illinois for football. There ya go.

Seriously I'd love for Mizzou/KU football game every year since I'm only 5minutes away from the Kansas State line.

Honestly I could care less if we played them in football and the same with Illinois.....I think we should set a series up with Iowa or Nebraska.

This does not compute. I live in KC along with many Mizzou alums. I don't know of but maybe one really old guy that wants to play ku again. Most of us are thrilled to not even have to acknowledge their existence in any way anymore. That pisses them off even more.

This "wanting" to play ku comes off to them as us needing them. It is stupid.

This is the best take on this I have seen. I also like in KC and agree with the above 100%
