"According to a close source #Mizzou will name Jim Sterk as new AD. He's from San Diego State."

I know absolutely nothing about him. What's his story?

OK - looked him up. He's got some cred. Was the Under Armor AD of the year this past year, for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Well liked there. His experience is pretty much west coast though.

Well he was named AD of the year by the Natl Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics last year. So that's not nothing.

He's also on the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Committee as of this summer.

This looks like a home run to me.

Steve Fisher, their bball coach from fab 5 fame really likes him. Maybe he can fix our bball mess.

Sports talk radio here in SD are bitching up a storm. Apparently the associate ad just left as well.

SDSU has taken over the interim ath. Dept. tag from Mizzou.

Fisher was hired before he went to SDSU.
He did hire Bennett, the now coach at Virginia, while at WSU.

If he isn't a home run he does sound like a very solid double at least. He seems to get basketball and football and that might be put to the test soon if KA gets shown the road at the end of next season.

Yes, but a solid hire for, say, five years, is a damn good deal. You have plenty of time to line up a replacement or for him to groom his own, and you get an AD in (as odd as this will sound) the prime of their AD career given how the business works.

We all want a brilliant AD who can spend decades on the job. They just don't come along that often.

Obviously don't know a ton about this guy but man, looks like the hire we should have made long ago. Maybe got it right this time?

As was said, age is the only mark against but then again, right now, getting the ship righted, might be best suited for someone with more experience.

Don't be surprised if Fisher is named B-Ball coach next year.
