It's a chicken/egg problem. Where does one go while the other is being built?
There are workarounds for everything. It will require cash and creativity. Pump some money into a local ball field and make it work for a season. The baseball squad is years away from being competitive anyway. Raze both structures simultaneously, get the new groundworks in and start pouring footings. If Farmers can't support that number of trucks per day, someone can fill the gaps in. This is the SEC and sitting on your hands won't work.

How would you integrate volleyball (M&W), gymnastics, wrestling, and basketball (M&W) into one facility without impacting each of the others - especially Basketball?
they were all in Hearnes together for decades without any issues. Why would it be worse now with a larger facility that has more practice areas?

There have been complaints over the last few years in the AD that Hearns isn't big enough for what they currently need anyway, and was a reason the new arena was built.
Collegiate sports have changed with regards to how practices are scheduled over the last 20 years, since Hearns has been converted, which means the availabletime they are allowed to practice has been condensed. Each sport gets 4 hours of practice time daily, but once you add on the locker room stuff (i.e. recovery, rehab, study) it would be a nightmare (but obviously not impossible) for space.

Promote club hockey to NCAA D1

Of course. I just think there are easier/ cheaper options than displacement or interruption to the rest of the AD for a program that receives zero support anyway.

Not a bad idea. I'd personally prefer club soccer get promoted, but I've enjoyed my club hockey too.

The folks over on SEC Rant are obviously mystified about the low level of support or interest the MU fan base has for baseball. They just do not understand. They don't get that MU baseball competes with 2 pro teams, a popular minor league team, and a consistently good D1 program down south for fans and attention.
Most SEC baseball teams have no real instate competition for attention or $ or players, outside the other SEC schools.

Most SEC states are garbage professional. In either they don’t have shite in the way of pro teams or all of them historically suck.
No surprise college sports rules.

This is a college sports forum, not pro. Quit with that cop out loser shite.

That would give Lindenwood competition. Maryville in Chesterfield has been rumored to move up to NCAA D1 soon, but it remains to be seen.

And the state of Missouri is the only one in the SEC that can say they’ve had pro sports long prior to 1960.

At this point, the MU baseball players/supporters of the past and present are going to have to decide if they want this program to survive. In other words, the people who have the most at stake when it comes to the possible shuttering of the program, need to step up or watch the program that they care about, go all the way down the shitter. No one else, quite frankly, gives enough of a shite to raise the kind of $$$ needed to turn this thing around.

I see no way they will shut the program down. Where are your sources or frankly discussions from anyone connected?
Posted on 5/5/25 at 11:31 am to Tackle74
No sources or discussions, just my feelings on this.
This program is special, and not in a good way. This program is an economic drain and an overwhelming embarrassment to the university. If changes aren't made after an historically inept season like this, then I believe the university has already made the choice to let it rot on the vine.

Not offering proper support is different then ending the program. Being the only SEC team to not have baseball would be a bigger embarrasment. I honetly see Veatch firing the coach and announcing at least working on plans to address the program. But then again this is Mizzou?
Posted on 5/5/25 at 12:09 pm to Tackle74
If Veatch does that, then I agree. However, not having a constant doormat of a program would not be more embarrassing than what we have now.
