Mizzou fans I can’t even begin to tell you how sorry I feel for this young man. He’s an all American and a dang good kid. Hope he heals well and can continue his dreams. Good luck this season guys!

Somebody at Mizzou pissed God off.

Somewhere in Kansas, Kimbo is saying, "SEE...it's not so fricking easy, is it?"

You couldn't make this shite up. If you wrote it down, people would say no team has bad luck like this. So will have to coach his azz off to make up for this. On the bright side, Porter comes back next year and the team is loaded.

Why would Porter risk another season in college to get injured, he already complains about knee pain. Dude is going to the draft regardless of where he gets picked.

The whole reason he came back was to play himself into a High (Lottery) first round pick. Blowing out his knee and missing the season isnt going to magically bump him to the first round. MPJ got away with it because he was first round talent out of high school.

If anything, Jontay Porters stock will drop after this. This really sucks for him personally, because he probably would have made more money going to the draft this year. This is why most talented players go to the draft ASAP to avoid a potential injury that could hurt their draft stock. He knew the risks coming back, and unfortunately for him, they came full circle. As Wtodd hinted out, an injury like this could effect his play in the long haul. I could see him returning to Mizzou next year if he’s healthy. He would still have 3 years of eligibility to play around with to improve his stock if he needs it.

The thing people have to keep in mind regarding NBA draft stuff is that every year, players break out in college that may not have been seen as a talent before and more and more talented players are coming out of high school. Most NBA teams are gonna put Jontay on the shelf while they look at all the new talent coming in. He's not going to be a priority when everyone knows he's gonna be on the bench and he's injury prone. That's just business.

Reminds me of how excited I was about Kelly Thames. He was never the same.

Jontay will have to comeback just to prove he can play with that knee

Wasn’t Thames injury a PCL and 25 years ago? Recovering from the type of injury Jontay had is way easier now than it was long ago.
