Word is we have been in ESTL looking into the possibility. Thomas wants to file a hardship waiver because his kid is in ESTL. If he gets it, he would like to play one year with Mizzou and go pro.

Yes, this is the same guy who ripped Mizzou for not playing ESTL players (Greg Taylor). After TBJ and TWS made all sec, I guess he’s had a change of heart.

Doubtful. Why would they bring in what looks like one year of trouble with a look at me kind of guy?

Because if he’s eligible, Thomas would be the best receiver on the team. Get TBJ, Simms and the walkon in on the recruiting. Make sure Thomas understand program expectations.

It also reminds recruits in the area that going across the country means you’re far from family. Stay near.

He couldn't get along with Richt.

That alone should raise a red flag.

He is a turd when the ball isnt coming at him and is a joke blocking his position. No thanks.

Yes the blocking and willingness to work within the team concept is the question anyone will have about him.

If he wants to make the NFL and last there he will need to do those things.

He’s worth a scholarship for 1 yr.

If he doesn’t want to buy in he can sit on the bench and pout.

If he does, he’s a truly elite talent that could push our offense to an incredible level.

Man I have mixed emotions about this. I love the talent. Going against that talent though:

Not just didn't pick Mizzou but mother f***** us
Academic issues
Attitude problem
One year only

I guess it depends on who you are passing on to give him a scholarship.

Man you guys are sensitive Emos. All he said was ESTL players weren't getting enough PT. Anything else?

Big deal, forgive and move on.

Has Odom ever had a problem child? And if so, was he able to successfully manage him?

Great coaches can handle one or two without it corrupting or destroying the team.

Or could Kelly Bryant already be our tempermental prima donna (given his exodus from Clemson)?

How is Kelly Bryant a prima donna

I'm not saying he is or isn't. I was YouTubing Bryant and it advanced from the video I was watching to one of the hot take shows with Cris Carter and a roundtable of former players after he declared he was leaving Clemson and they were ripping him pretty good over his character for saying losing his job was a slap in the face. Take it for what it's worth.

Ofodile would be the guy handling him, not Odom. Dooley is also going to get a cut before any issue gets to Odom. Dooley handled Dez Bryant during the entirety of his career in Dallas. Thomas would be light work in comparison.

Dooley is his position coach. Dealing with Dez prepared that guy for the rest of his career.

So we can watch SEC CBs dump him on his backside and spill plays back inside? Meh. This league requires consistent effort by the edge skill positions in the run game and the underclassmen were outstanding at it last year because of the example set by Hall and Brown. Thomas isn't cut from that cloth.

That isn't what you want festering in any room. He can go to Shittyville and run past B1G secondaries and be a blocking liability.

In the end, if Ododile and Dooley think he will work and not be an issue, great. He doesn't seem worth it to me for one year when you have a good foundation set outside with Scott and Knox. Nance and Boone get there in January and Massey in the summer. I'd use the time and resources elsewhere.

Is the risk worth it?

Before the Kelly Bryant signing, I would have said no. Now that we are closer, we need him, like it or not. I would never add someone like that during a rebuilding year.

Normally I wouldn't want to take a chance like this, but because we struggled in the passing game last year without Hall I say yes.

No team needs a player that won't go to class and walks out of meetings and practice.

Getting booted from Miami was probably a pretty big wake up call to him.

He’ll know what’s expected of him. Go to class and be a good teammate. Odom won’t put up with any bullshite.

I cannot help but think: He was too much of a flake for Miami?
