I hadn't thought of it either. Great minds don't think alike.

Anyone send this thread to Drink yet? There is some insight here that he could really benefit from

What I am seeing Drinkwitz may have had a hard time getting top players from the transfer portal and same with recruiting class. If he can get same amount of 4* and 5* each year and that should get the whole team to be loaded in 2 or 3 years from now. Right now, not likely anything great going to happen until he fills up all the gaps with 4* and 5* players. It will take time since that might be what he will have to do unlike LSU that has already replaced players that left via transfer portal. If Drinkwitz can't compete for players from transfer portal, then he will need to get similar recruiting class from 2022. I have no idea how and what is best way for Drinkwitz to get those 4* and 5* players all on the field at the same time. I am happy that Drinkwitz has a chance to compete, but it will take a bit longer and slowly getting all the pieces together.

Where would he be? Only way he's not here is because this year and next year were 9+ win seasons. And if that happens it was because Macon or Cook balled out this year, which would put an end to this thread.

You know, if the Great Gatsby were alive today (and if he were real) he would ride in on a Great Dane and set up a great NIL deal for the Tigers, not a doubt in my mind. No one had talents like the Great Gatsby, no one.

This may be true for some younger players, but junior and seniors are trying to get noticed by NFL scouts. National championships are great, but their #1 goal is to make it to the NFL. Example is Jermaine Johnson who transferred from UGA to FSU last year. He went from a National Championship team to a 4-6 team. He went from a backup at UGA to ACC player of the year and drafted in the 1st round.
One of the reasons Gerry Bohanon chose FAU over Mizzou is because he is a guaranteed starter on a 5-7 Conference USA team over a 6-7 SEC school.
When a 4* or 5* upper class men chooses a team in the portal a major reason is playing time and not transferring to a team to be a back up.
Akayleb Evans transferred to Mizzou to get noticed by playing against NFL caliber players every Saturday. It’s hard to do that when your a backup on a better team.
Mizzou could and should be getting more 4* players out of the portal, but it looks like Drink is failing at selling players on his program.

Drinkwitz is still learning and is getting some help but like I said give him 2 more years to fill the missing gaps. Look at Fisher. He wasn't doing okay in recruiting, but wins weren't there on a regular basis against top teams. Once Drinkwitz gets his identity set for his offense and the defense makes much needed improvements then more top recruits will give Drinkwitz a chance. This is the year I see a little of both. It is next year where I will be expecting a much better team on offense and defense.

apparently Jack Abrahams will be on campus this week, and likely commit. Played at USM then went to play for the pirate at State, but was never medically cleared to play.

I dunno about Abraham. Started at LA Tech, then NW Miss CC, then Southern Miss, then walked on to Miss St. Now shopping for a place to play in his final (7th year) of eligibility.
Looks shaky to me.

Idk, of all QB's this seems like the biggest no thanks.

Personally, I hope that any portal QB added at this point will be manning a clipboard for most of the season. We have more talented guys on the roster already.
