Is the new quarterback going to be given a chance to be the starter this Fall?

Anyone know if the new rookie quarterback going to be given a chance to play this Fall? I think he might play some if not a starter this Fall. Or is he going to go straight to play pro baseball?

I have no clue but based on my read of Eli...

Burning his red-shirt is not on the agenda IMO. It could happen if we are really good and Cook gets injured. If we are really bad, not a chance. Thats how you ruin a qb.

I'd expect a Cook and Macon, and a heavy dose of Cook.

I don't think Horn's redshirt matters. Unless he falls flat or gets major injuries, he probably goes in one draft or the other after his 3rd or 4th year.

Why is no one saying the offense will be great this year? If those two quarterbacks will get the offense to compete in the SEC. Why is no one ranking them to have a good year or at least saying the offense will be good this year? I hear Arkansas, Tennesse, South Carolina, LSU, Alabama and a few others.

Because no one knows how good this offense will be until it gets on the field against real competition. We can hope, but we don't know. The Red Zone problems against Army did not help.

The transfer portal also is a factor. If Horn isn't happy after year 1, he takes his free transfer. Redshirting top recruits is probably a thing of the past. IMHO, if Horn shows up and is competent, he's the starter. We will lose 1 to the portal, but Drink already has a high rated QB for 1023. This is just my opinion. I know nothing, just ask my wife.

I see that someone posted on here saying the current quarterbacks don't have a strong arm to throw downfield.
Not one expert mention those two quarterbacks to be good enough to get the offense to do well in the SEC. That is why I am saying Drinkwitz missed out of several transfers. Are those two on the roster is the best option out there to give the team best chance to get to 8 or more wins?

That's what I am telling you.

Show me where any experts been saying the offense will be great this year and will compete in the SEC? I hope Drinkwitz is going to surprise some teams and win 9 or more games. Like he did at Appalachian State.

Agreed, if the QB play can facilitate a great offense this season, then the offense will be great

I think that if the offense is great, then the offense will be great.

It’s hard to guess. But that’s my guess.

What we really need is a great expert to say that the QB situation is great, so that our offense can be great.

I have more concern with the coaching than the players.

I just talked to a great friend of mine. He's a great expert and he thinks if the QB play can facilitate a great offense this season, then the offense will be great.

I think the offense has a chance to be pretty darn good....but....im obviously not an expert. We have more talent in the receivers room than we've had in a very long time. I think the rb room is gonna be fine as well. Can any of these qb's(in conjunction with coaching use that talent to stretch the field effectively? Can they figure out how to score td's in the red zone? We will get the answers to these questions once the games start. Until then....it's all just guess work...even for the so called experts

You are missing out OLs. Plus, Missouri does have 1 very good wide receiver. Most other teams have more than 1. You will need to get more top talents all across the roster. That is how to win games. Not by having 1 great receiver and 1 great lineman, and few other great players but not have enough to spread them all around. I think Drinkwitz needs two more years to get those players and have them all playing at the same time. That is okay. I hope this really going to work out very well for the team. Drinkwitz isn't well known HC. He needs to show that he can compete and wins games against top teams. Most top recruits are in a wait and see approach.

I hadn't thought of that, but it sure sounds like something Drink should try.
