frick man. Try being a Red's fan. Has there been a bigger fall from grace than Liverpool fans have suffered?
ETA: At least Suarez is doing his thing.

Judging from Missouri's state animal, we Mizzou fans are a strong and stubborn breed.

Am I reading BreakawayZou being a whiny bitch because we lost to the #2 team in the nation that plays a style that is perfect for disrupting our non-outside shooting, non-ballhandling aside from Pressey team?
That what I'm reading?
Don't let the barn door hit you man. frickin' A, that wasn't that bad tonight. Sheesh.

What's up with all the hate for Cardinal fans? Smells like sour grapes to me. Are you sure you guys aren't just envious Royals fans?
Just because the Cardinals win a lot is no reason to hate the fan base.

I really dont get why people are freaking out over the basketball game. I get that this post is about more than that, but its NOVEMBER. If we are losing like this in February in the SEC, then I will join with you in the riots. But for now, relax. We are like 4 games into 32+
None of these kids have played together. We have a bunch of talented parts. Let them come together. Its not going to be instant.

Since you responded to me, you kinda left me shaking my head. I never said anything about the Cards, nor do I see any hate towards the Cards in this thread. Personally, I have no prob with the Cards, I'm not a big fan living in KC all my life, but certainly respect their long history of excellence. You are probably right though, most Royal fans are envious of the Cards success.
I remember the '85 series (not looking to debate the call or anything) and partying down at Westport with Card and Royal fans. Alot of good natured ribbing between the two fanbases, and some serious drunkfeasts going on. Good times.

C'mon Breakaway, nut the hell up losing a BB game in Nov to the #2 team is shite compared to the usual abuse being a Mizzou fan incurs.

I'll add to this...not to mention these refs called horibble games all the way through so far. I haven't watched one well reffed game yet down there.
Not to mentioned that place looked lik they were playing insided a box. What was that place? A converted dance hall? I don't like the location or the tournament. I'd rather see them play in a tournament in KC or one in St.Louis in a real arena. This whole tournament seems gimmicky to me.

I'll also agree with what everyone else is implying. These guys haven't started to play together yet. When they start gelling andgetting on the same page, they will be right there with the Louisville's and Kentucky's. They have the pieces, just need to get them playing together.
I've noticed they don't handle pressure well. They seem to go in a shell. Except Pressey. He just keeps attacking. Thats what they need with the rest of the new guys. When we get Brown and Dixon back. That'll change this teams identity again and they should be more explosive.
I think we'll be fine.

Yeah, the tournament is gimmicky. But it's great competition early in the season and the payout to the university is no joke. If you can make a couple million in 3 days as an athletic department, I dont think there's any way to say no.

Yeh not saying we shouldn't be there. I'd rather see them in a different tourny. I guess they will be playing in the Maui Tourny next year?
Posted on 11/24/12 at 9:46 am to jafo
Yeah, I know. The rims were weird, the scoreboard stopped, the ball was slippery, the ceilin was odd, the lighting was horrible, it was apparently hot as hades in the ballroom, and I think the floor was a makeshift deal. I would rather play basketball in a good high school gym than in that place.
Not sure about next years tournament. It's not Maui. The Arky Hawgs are playing there.

We are going to Maui. I believe it was actually already announced.

Maui is in 2014, correct?

This team is going to be better in February than it is in November. Frankly the loss sucked but it doesn't concern me much. We knew chemistry and playing together was going to be a big thing for this team to work on.
We need Dixon back. With Pressey out of the game we have NOBODY that can handle pressure. We are also way to lazy trying to break the press. No movement to get open. Pressey has tons of upside obviously. However, he's killing us with the turnovers. I haven't looked but I bet he was nearly double digits in turnovers last night. He needs to reign it in a bit. Bowers needs more touches than he got last night. Just my thoughts.

I love the Royals. Nothing more that I'd like than to get another shot at them in the World Series. I mean, how could you not like a team growing up as a kid with George Brett on it. I'll root for the Chiefs about as much as I do the Rams, mainly because I have learned to not give a frick about pro football. These days, I mainly watch the games that have former Tigers playing and not much else. I never did understand the whole KC vs. StL thing myself.
