It was 14 when I made the post and was #18 2 minutes later. The average recruit ranking is higher than 6 of the teams ranked above them.

He is a master "coach." We dont have that. So talent matters a whole lot more for us than Indiana.

We’re at 26th when looking at all incoming players (portal and high school), 15th when just looking at the portal.

They were discussing this on The Dan Patrick Show the other day.
Talking heads still get more excited over unproven 5-star recruits than transfers that have excelled in college for 3-years that came in as 3-stars. For too many, that initial rating gets locked in to their heads and they can't see past it. Even with real production to actually judge.
Actual production over potential has a strong argument.

Penn St at #1 is impressive, but upon further review, they've got 27 signed so far and 20 of them are former Cyclones. These "rankings" are stupid, but this thread is entertaining.

247 doesn't let you order the classes by average player rating which is really what matters. PedState is at 87.6. Mizzou is at 87.9. But the uneducated would believe that one is killing it in the portal and one is not.
