And now we find out that Cook has had a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder since the Kstate game. Having off season surgery to correct.

And just why the hell didn't someone else get to take snaps?

Bazelak all over again.

He wont be back in time, labrums take a while and no guarantee for a full recovery. Why didnt we play horn to get him ready in the bowl game. WTF

Cook out there every week missing receivers, under throwing, bad accuracy etc, and now we find out he was injured all freaking year?

There’s no excuse for him not playing Horn later in the year. Sure, he didn’t know the playbook early on, but you’ve got to do better than sending out a lame QB and hoping for the best.

That’s some garbage coaching

Eli is just replicating each season at this point.

Cook and his family probably realized this might be his best chance to start and get some experience before transferring to a FCS school.

That’s coaching malpractice. How do you not see that your QB who you have in practice everyday suddenly has even more of a noodle arm?

Ridiculous to not even just run some damn wildcat or Aubbie O with Macon at least if you really don’t wanna burn Horn.

And yea. Depending on severity of the tear, he may not be ready for spring ball.

This news should be a fire-able offense ...

Too bad DRF and Choi are screwed in some other matter to not bring accountability to the football program.

Tore mine playing baseball and it took years for it to feel back to normal. Of course I didn't have college program rehab.

Had similar injury while in the Army. Not an easy recovery process.

"Eli is just replicating each season at this point."

This is what I remember of the last 2 seasons. The offense scores 17 to 24 points a game and the defense holds the other team below that to squeeze out a close win or loss.

As the Offensive Coordinator it is not a good look for Eli to depend on Blake Baker to win games for him.

Brady was named the starter too early in fall camp and Drink stuck with him the rest of the year. No meaningful snaps or chance for anyone else to shine. We don't know how Macon and Horn felt about that. I know as a fan I would have appreciated seeing a different QB when the offense was stalling.

It is not like Drink would have been pulling Bryce Young or Anthony Richardson out of the game!

There is always next year but I wonder if it will be more of the same.

I’d like to be optimistic for the rest of the season and say 6-6( i saw someone at espn pick us for the gasparilla bowl). Wins against vandy, n mexico, scar and arky. We’ll know a lot after vandy. Right now Cook has a banged up shoulder from the ksu game when he didnt slide on the qb run.

I pointed out the shoulder injury in this post after the gator game. Drink does not have confidence in Horn yet. Seems pretty obvious he does something poorly in practice. Maybe when August rolls around he will.

Next year will be all eyes on Drinkwitz! He better get the team to win 8 regular games or more. This year is the right year to fire him if he goes 6-6 again.

That isn’t necessarily true.

I think Drinkwitz is overly infatuated with effort guys. Eli Young and Tavorus Jones are better running backs than Schrader. That resulted in nothing. He loves Schrader’s effort.

I think it’s likely the same with Cook and Horn.

If he just had surgery, he wont be allowed to pick a ball up for 3-4 months, plus add in learning how to throw again and all the fun rehab. He is definitely missing spring ball.

He's definitely missing spring ball. And depending on how his recovery goes we may have seen him throw his last pass as a Mizzou QB. From what I've read Horn will be playing baseball. So who is taking snaps in spring practice? Will Gabarri Johnson be on campus?

Horn is on a football scholarship so I believe football still takes precedence. plus he will probably RS for baseball too. Gabarri isnt coming until summer last I heard. Leaves us with Tommy Lock and Horn.

Had a friend tear his playing baseball as well… took a few years to get back. Effectively ended his career.

Unacceptable to not let Horn get a few snaps throughout the season. His red shirt was saved regardless.

In my mind, this marks a fork in the road for Drink.

I did as well. A SLAP tear, bicep tendonesis and full labrum tear. Had it done in 2009 by an AF LTC while I was in the Army.

I'm getting ready to my right shoulder replaced in February.

You can't ever count on them healing correctly and if they do, it's always a chance to re-tear.
