Let's pump the brakes on Pribula, he finally had his Arch Manning game.
With that said, I thought he played the best corners he'll face all season. He needs to be less emotional, you could tell he was just straight up mad at his receivers, and it's hard to say who was more at fault.

Making Auburn, aTm, oU and possibly Arkansas defend half the field will result in losses.
Yesterday was Beau's first experience vs an elite SEC secondary. He handled it poorly and had his worst day throwing the ball when plays were there to be made.
Moore's second half play calling was confusing. On a day when Bama's second level defenders were flowing outside, Moore didn't counter it with IZ, Duo, and Split Zone. 17 carries by the RBs goes completely against the identity of the offense.

I don’t like Cook, but he would have won that game.
Hating on Cook is like hating on James Franklin, all they did was exactly what they were supposed to do.
I don't know if Cook wins that game but it's becoming evident that Cook has better running ability than Pribula.

Is it?

Cook's straight line speed was really good. Beau has better lateral quickness but that doesn't necessarily equate to longer runs. Cook's rush yards per attempt over his entire Mizzou career is at 3.4 yards, with Beau at 3.6 so far this year before we get into the tougher defensive lines.

Beau is by far the better running QB. His timing is better than Cooks. Cook is faster, and made you pay for losing gap integrity but his designed runs looked choppy.
Cook made bigger run plays because if you left your gap, he would make you pay by streaking down the sideline.

This all day ...
This loss is squarely on Moore and Drink. Yeah, Pribula threw 2 inexcusably bad balls that resulted in INTs ... but the Mizzou offense is dink, dunk, 3-4 yards and a cloud of dust. That's what it was with Cook, that's what it is with Pribula. Sure, a deep shot here and there when the safeties start creeping forward after giving up 8-10 straight chunk (3-4 yards) plays.
My problem with the current offense is that the motion, deception, creativity has been effectively gone for the past 3-4 games outside of a couple plays, here and there. RPO, play action - RB/TE screen, quick slants, etc. is no where to be found ...
At one point, Moore had Pribula play action to throw 20+ yard outs to WRs who were covered or have the pocket collapse into a sack/short QB scramble ... play after play after play ...
Roberts getting 5 carries and Hardy getting 12 carries is criminal use of the weapons in this offense. And figuring out that Olugbode is our best WR weapon (save for Coleman or Johnson) with 4 minutes left in the game ... seriously, Moore, I hope you get the callback from Arkansas cause your playbook will be easy to defend.
Anyway, lot of games left to the season and hope they learn it as this was a winnable game with better playcalling. The defense is absolutely loaded and the secondary was actually pretty solid (no bombs, only busted coverage was Rodriguez on the 4th down 0 blitz ...) especially given the WR talent on Bama.

Beau had 11 carries for 61 yds yesterday. QB runs weren't the problem.
Throw timing and ball placement on the other hand were an issue. They were issues that Cook had as well vs top end defenses. Too many plays where the ball is snapped and the QB makes the 3 step drop and then hops waiting to see WRs come open. The ball has to be out on that 3rd step. That requires a solid post snap read and winning queues recognition.
That's on Gleeson and Moore.

I respect your opinion but I'm watching the LA Lambs execute what I'm talking about right now. Fake hand-off to the left, QB boot to the right with at least two available receivers at different levels. Then add Pribula's ability to run.
Losing would be more of the same with Pribula panicking in the pocket and getting crushed at or behind the LOS.

If Pribula had Stafford's arm talent we aren't having this discussion

Does he have Brock Purdy's arm talent?
Shanahan's had the 49ers doing the same boot action with his weak armed QBs for years. I've watched a shite ton of 49er games and when his QBs typically get in trouble is from the pocket and overthrowing their arm talent trying to make completions at the 3rd level.
Pribula's a dink and dunk quarterback. Moore needs to embrace it and tailor his offense to it.

I honestly can't remember, because I'mold.. Did we ever fake OZ rt and boot left? I feel like that's Beau's strength.

4th quarter against South Carolina for a drive extending first down.

It's probably the cleanest play we have in the playbook, especially when we run OZ right...a lot. Not booting left all game long is bullshite.
Posted on 10/12/25 at 2:13 pm to Faurot fodder
To Moore's credit, he timed it perfectly in that game.

I just like the way he throws the ball rolling left. Gets zip on it and he's accurate. We should probably scheme a few more of those.

That's all I'm saying.
Beau's pocket game is a hot mess.

He has no pocket game. Has he been made 10 passes from the pocket?
