Doesn't sound like Drink is much of a recruiter if this post is correct.

Drink is a good recruiter, but transfers picked other programs. The irony is they aren't playing well at their new schools. Phenix Jr and Martinez are helping their schools and we didn't go after either.

So he is a poor evaluator of talent since he spent so much time and effort going after players that weren't any good? Still sounds like poor recruiting if that is true.

Why would any go to Mizzou with that awful offense? Drinkwitz needs time to get the players to gel and get the better players in that don't have enough experience/not ready in rookie season. Horn for an example and some OLs are not ready or waiting for next year to get all the pieces in place. Got to see it isn't fully ready as a team. Next year or two should be set. Yes, he missed out on some, but some aren't what he wants due to OL not 100 percent ready and need quarterback that can run more than just sit in pocket and throw the ball. In the SEC the OL has to be ready and be at their top best to defend the SEC DLs. No need to panic if Drinkwitz gets a little more out of this quarterback then next year Haorn or a transfer quarterback shall be good. Not just any quarterback but the one that fits Drinkwitz offense.

He's recruited 2 4 star Quarterbacks. Unfortunately, it seems the 4 star on the bench does not know the playbook, while the 2 star on the field cannot execute the playbook.

one is a rookie, and he isn't starting without being ready after he is physically fit and get comfortable with the offense. Plus, the OL and wide receivers isn't quite ready and next year you should bet they would be much better and be a much better team on offense. I see it a little bit here and there. Just wait until next year and it may be very good year next year. Just a tad off this year with the offense. That is why you got to give Drinkwitz time to get all the right players together at the same time.

I don’t know that he doesn’t know the playbook, though that’s feasible since he missed spring.

I think more likely he’s a freshman and Drink isn’t quite ready to throw him in the fire yet. I’d say he does soon unless Cook plays well vs Florida

I'm guessing that Horn will start playing when we have four games left and he won't lose his redshirt.

Until then I think it Cook and Abrams.

I don’t think the redshirt is a consideration

This.

The kid is either going to be drafted for baseball or football by his junior/senior year.

So no reason to have him redshirt ...

What do you want AD to do? Fire Drinkwitz because he failed to get a reliable quarterback to play right off the bat and there is no way to know if he would be good. He has his eyes on Horn and another one that just committed for 2023 recruiting class. I believe next year is where things will be much better on offense. He might be a little behind with the offense, but it isn't like he lost the team and on the hot seat. He is building the roster and is slowly getting it done. Next year or two is where I see a much better team. Drinkwitz also had just one year experience as a HC when he was hired. He is ahead of what Odom has done so far. I was looking forward to the team winning 8 games this year but I maybe off and that doesn't mean he needs to be fired. He is a key player to getting the team to be 4-1. Just give him the time he needs to get all his players on the field at the same time and that should be next year. I believe that is when the team will step up.

Is there supposed to be a new OC for next year? If this happens then it is better to hold off until then or not really matter at this point until a new OC comes in and then go from there. Next year is the key with new OC shall be different offense. This might be why holding back since all the pieces are not set this year. OL still an issue after losing another OL during the Kentucky game.

Why now against a much better team than Kentucky? Why didn't he start the Kentucky game? I guess there is still some issues and I think the NMS game is where he will get the first start. Make it easier to get the nerves and not make costly mistakes. Got to ease him in a game or else might set him backwards.

If Drink hasn’t put Horn in yet, I’m not sure why he would now.

Because the last few games have been close. Drink even said that’s why he didn’t play him against vandy. UT will not be close, so start him with just a few plays, then against NMst maybe a few more series. If Arkansas isn’t close, you put him in for even more.
