It's bizarre and it didn't used to be that way until Babs came along.

He's our highest ranked running back commit since Tony Temple in 2004, who was ranked #8 in the country by Rivals at the time.

Drink understands these kids, and they respond to him.

Caution: it's still going to take a couple of years to get the kids and the system integrated and up to speed. I'm thinking 23 is when it all comes together. Gonna be fun to watch.

It just feels good to have optimism. And I believe we’re not done. I think we get one more tomorrow.

I love recruiting because of the built in optimism. In my heart we are building a championship team. May never happen but it’s fun to dream and fun to watch Drink getting it done.

4* #5 is “official.”

Is this officially our best class? When was the last time if ever this happened? Tomorrow should be #6. With more to come. I’m really expecting Coleman or Burden if Drink keeps it up at this pace.

Anyone know if we have a shot at any other 4* for 22?

This will be our best class since the DGB class.

This blows that class outta the water already.

We had DGB and 4*s in Mauk, Newsime, and Boehm.

We have a 4* QB, RB, WR.
4*DL, S

shite is happening.

I went back and looked through all the years. The 2010 class was the best. Seven 4* recruits. 3* included Henry Josey Marcus Murphy and Mitch Morse.

We had five 4* last year and five so far this year. I expect this to surpass the 2010 class.

There are several folks on here who have justified the past weak classes by using the “stars dont matter as much as coaching up” argument. I dont know where they are now but we’ll now see how much stars matter. We have a galaxy of stars this year.

Obviously to compete at the highest level it takes stars and coaching, and with Pinkle enjoying some success with the latter the fans know the coaching-first model can work. What's scary is Tennessee has been recruiting at this level for our entire existence in the SEC and ain't won jack shite.

What's never been known is if Mizzou could pull Top 10-15 classes in a state where the passion is reserved for the professionals. And for this to be sustainable they're going to have to flip the fan culture which in my mind has always been the tougher nut to crack.

Drink and the donors are doing their part, but how do you flip the culture to make tickets to Faurot a hot item? IMO - and I could be wrong with this - but it starts with the student body and Boone County + surrounding. They're the most readily available to attend. Ignite their passion and radiate it outward. Then work the hell out of the St. Louis and Kansas City media and business parterships to gain as much coverage as possible.

I know I've mentioned this before but the Cardinals have become the masters of free promotion and getting asses in the seats by means of their giveaways. They've built business partnerships to defray the cost of shite like bobbleheads - and it works. Is it a gimmick? Yes, but who wouldn't love a Drinkwitz bobblehead on their shelf?

Flipping the fan culture is going to be a massive undertaking, but we have the right man at the helm which is the hardest part. Hopefully Drink has the right people around him to execute the public relations phase of this building project.

It is entertaining watching folks who have never paid attention to recruiting, suddenly paying attention to recruiting.

I think the “stars don’t matter” argument was fair when you had a talent developer like Pinkel. He made stars of 3* players. But it’s tougher in the SEC so may as well get more developed players if you can.

MU was used to the talent level of the B12. SEC Is a different level, you have got to start from a higher base.

Level of completion.

In the Big 12, it was easier to develop talent and aril, compete.

SEC, you need those 4-5* that can start immediately and develop quickly to supplement and fill in the gaps of the guys who need to develop.

Tennessee had a combination of bad hires and worse administration, egged on by a rabid, short sighted fan base. Mizzous cautious, where's my nut cup fans may be an advantage here.

Bat signal does not go up until under one hour from the announcement, from what I have seen.
