5 wins, one of the worst offenses in fbs, and a race war on campus which the football team was a part of. Real Mustang. I get what you're saying missing out on these kids will hurt. No doubt. But you have moved on from dumping on Odom because he wasn't winning to now dumping on him because he lost recruits for the bad start. Just seems like you're trying to dump on him either way.

Unfortunately you are right. This thread will be a last stand of sorts. The "BO sucks!!! DIAF!!!" we had daily have subsided so this provides the last outlet.

It's really hard to come back from being so ardent and absolute.

Debating what place in the rankings should be viewed as acceptable by the fan base gets tiresome.

I am a bigger fan of results.

Albert O, Rountree, Castillo, T. Williams, T Hall, Prewett, Johnson, Crockett. They are all contributing seriously this season (save Crockett) and look like great players we will be excited to see next season.

Their rankings - meh.

I don't think I am the only one who is looking forward to seeing Miller and Brooks at LB here in the next couple of seasons. Sparks has been a step in the right direction at CB.

I am much more excited about Odom's recruits than the players we got from Pinkel's last 2-3 classes.

Well that's just bullshite, Pinkel had a lot of exciting players in 2015, Lock/TBJ just to name 2.

I think it comes down to what are fan expectations. If we are to believe what BO says, then our expectations should align with his. Coach Odom is preaching championships, not division titles, not 7-9 win seasons, but conference and national championships.

No matter how you look at it we need top 20 classes at a minimum to do that. We can argue about "how close we were" in the past, but the reality is our past classes never got us conference or national championships. So based on data stating no team with average recruiting ratings has won a championship and based on the expectation of our coach who also stated he himself wants higher recruiting classes by saying "if we are keeping score, then I want to win that too", we should demand and expect more in the form of recruiting.

Now if we are being realistic, then yes we will be ok by signing day with a class who could win an average of 7 games a year here in the future. If winning and developing teams to compete every 2 years throughout a decade for a division title is the expectation, we are on track to do so with this class.

It's not BS. It's a rational point.

Looking at the 2015 group, you are right about their being a few more than I remembered. I forgot T Hall, Frazier, J Johnson, and E Hall were part of that class.

That said. Josh Moore, Nate Howard, M Doherty, M Cuellar, T. Owen, R. Williams, C Abbington, Nate Strong - all gone.

A. Hines, T. Jacobs, J. Smith, F. Agbasimere, R. Floyd, AJ Harris - still on team, that's about it.

TBJ, Lock, E. Hall, T. Hall - showing up on Saturdays
T. Howell, J. Johnson, Frazier, TJ Warren, R Perkins - regular contributors

Only 9 players from this class having much of an impact on the team. That's not a formula for success.

And 4 exciting players is not a lot IMO. And that's assuming the 2 Halls keep their play up.

Ok so how do you know all of Odom's players stick around? Already lost quite a few including Mason.

Pinkel had some bad luck with his last few classes. Between Mauk and DGB you lost an explosive offense.

Got a commitment today from a punter that could end up being Fatony’s successor.

He’s a preferred walkon.

Nonsense. I don't know why you keep doing this,

Because every time you spout nonsense, I'm going to call it out as nonsense. I didn't say BO inherited a perfect program or I would have called it a Lambo. It was definitely a Mustang and no, there is NO comparison between what had preceded each taking over. My guess is you're too young to remember the 80's and most of the 90's.

You should really stop man. Reedus is right on this. You don't remember the 80's and some of the 90's. Some of us here do, and he is spot on in what he is saying.

I'll admit I wasn't alive for the 80's. But I just don't get why after wins we have to try to be edgy about recruiting. It's November. I think being Missouri fans we should know Jan. 20th isn't close enough to signing day. Ohio State and others will always come around. Let's just enjoy the wins and moan about the losses right now. I never said we'd get one, two or all of the missouri 10. To say we might get none one or all right now is stupid. It's November.

My man, if any of you could read you would see that i agreed with him that Pinkel to over a worse situation. I mean, it's a few posts up and right there in black and white. I don't understand why so many of you have so much trouble with this.

I mean, I get what's going on. This is the last place we can shite on BO at the moment so some of you want to take full advantage but frick dude...let's at least try to respond to what was actually said.

My only contention with his post is that he was VASTLY overstating what BO was left with, and he was. Still is.
