don't forget an alabama loss in the SEC title game would put us in the driver seat as the only 1 loss SEC team. Crazier shite has happened. If we win we are in. I don't see how we could be left out. The next best candidates, i read this on ESPN mind you, all have combined 1 top 10 win. Really need aTm, LSU and Auburn to finish strong

ESPN news arguing about the fumble. Hope that gets plastered everywhere. I think he scored but don't think it should have been overturned.

LSU and ATM finish the season against each other. The only meaningful game they have left. One of them will end the season with 5 losses.

State doesn't have a top 10 win right now (assuming auburn drops out of the top 10). Only Ole Miss, Bama and Baylor do iirc. Yall need us to beat Ark and Auburn upset Bama or Oregon or Baylor to slip up. Still a lot of football remaining.

True, but your losses are becoming more and more embarrassing week by week.

Ok...he wasn't saying Ole Miss is a playoff contender.

Pivey is incapable of making a worthwhile point.

I will be pretty butt hurt if Ohio State gets in over us. Their schedule is just atrocious.
Posted on 11/17/14 at 1:08 pm to Eric Nies Grind Time
Indeed. That VT loss is atrocious and should unofficially disqualify them from the playoffs. Especially considering they may have a max of only two solid wins all season.

Unfortunately, it's all about money, as we all know.
Ohio State is, arguably, the second draw in the Midwest after Notre Dame, a truly elite traditional power, and has a large and wealthy fanbase.

Until otherwise proven wrong I have faith they won't take into account anything as meaningless on the field as ratings when coming out with their rankings.

All I care about is making the final 4. Anything can happen from there.

Fair enough. I'm a big fan of the innocent until proven guilty maxim, obviously, but history tends to repeat itself and money is always the controlling factor.

Has Meyer even had two conference losses yet? His situation reminds me of a shitty high school district with one power team. That conference is an embarrassment.

Which is why I hope they value conference championships highly, or their importance will be heavily diluted and the eye test will become a prominent decision-making point.

Don't bash the man for doing what he is supposed to do
I understand the B1G hatred, but he has beaten who he was supposed to beat.

The only conference game he's ever lost is MSU in the Big10 championship game last year. He's lost 3 games total in his 2+seasons thus far.
I think he's only beaten 1 top 15 team though.
