I agree but frankly we have no idea the value the committee will put on winning your conference (even a conference without a championship game). I think yall would be in but I think Baylor would be the only team with a shot of knocking you out. Auburn, A&M and LSU's collapses haven't helped your case either.

The good news for us is that the committee seems to have been using the ranking at the time the game was played, rather than current ranking, to evaluate strength of resume. I'll try to find the graphic but I saw a thing the other day where their rankings directly support that approach.

Found it. You can see, they are basically in line with number of ranked wins at the time, after first sorting by number of losses. If that pattern holds, we will be #3 or #4, assuming that they are basically not counting Oregon's loss. If they are counting it, we would be at #2 or #3.

fricking right. They have all tanked something fierce.

Our 1 loss still is better than any of the other 1 loss teams.

Well that graphic looks like it's where they were ranked last week.

If it were from the time that we beat them, both A&M and LSU would be top 10.

No disrespect to yall but I really hope that's not the case. That is a horrible way of establishing a legitimate ranking.

Dear God Florida State's resume looks bad.

Did both Clemson and Notre Dame fall out of the top 25?

Those are current rankings not rankings at the time the games were played.

Current as of last week at least.

Oh you're right, holy shite. With only one ranked team beaten and one loss, state and Bama could both legitimately get left out this week.

If we win the Egg Bowl, I think we will be in, but it will not be without some controversy. If Bama wins out, I think they finish as the top seed. If our only loss is to the top seed on the road by 5 pts, then we look good. If Bama stumbles, we will very likely replace them as the SEC rep because they have 2 losses.

If we lose to Ole Miss, then we don't deserve a slot.

If we win at Ole Miss and don't get in, then it is our fault for putting the decision in the hands of a committee. They will have ample justification for putting other teams in front of us.

We just have to win our next two games and let the chips fall where they may.

I still think we get in.

State TCU AND Bama have the best losses in that order. Bama Ole Miss and Baylor have the best wins in that order.

This is all so interesting to see play out. The committee has no set rules or criteria and can frankly do wtf they want. I love it.

LSU, A&M and Auburn losing games have really shite on the entire SEC's resume something fierce.

For real. One of LSU/a&M is going to have 5 losses and there's a good probability Auburn has 4. The west really canibalized itself and there are still meaningful games to play that could further that.

At this point the only way the SEC gets two teams in is if us and Alabama win out.

Obviously though, if your team is the one in, they wouldn't give a shite if there were two SEC teams in

I fear that may end up like the LSU-OM game. Our top four wins may all end up 8-4/7-5. On the flip side, if Arky and UK can just win one more game each we'll have beaten 6 SEC bowl eligible teams provided we beat Ole Miss.

Possible. Not possible.

UK has mailed it in for the season.
