Why are long-term threads getting whacked on the Bama Board?

On the Bama Board we had a 2025 Football Season thread that was used for general discussion when the discussion did not warrant it’s own individual thread.
That thread, along with some other similar threads, got whacked. We were told by the Bama Board admins that these threads were no longer allowed and that this decision came from the top (i.e., from above the Bama Board admins).
In response, we started a weekly discussion thread. Again, this was for general football discussion that was not worthy of its own thread. The plan was to start a fresh thread each week.
This thread has now been whacked.
We also had a thread for discussing former Alabama players in the NFL.
You guessed it, whacked.
So what gives?
Does every single thought or piece of information have to have its own thread now even if it doesn’t really warrant its own thread?
If I want to post that whatever former Bama player in the NFL just scored a touchdown, do I need to start a new thread for it? If so, do we start a new thread for every former Bama player that we want to discuss on a given NFL weekend?
I just want to make sure I understand what the rules are. TIA.

That’s precisely what happens anytime we start a new thread on the Bama Board and keep it going for more than a couple of days.

It's how you are. Everyone knows it. You're a crybaby wannabe tyrant in regard to what other people should be allowed to think.
Douchebag.

You’re simply a dumbass. I don’t care if someone wants to start a thread (even stupid threads like all of your threads are). I’m not calling for anyone to be barred from starting threads. Myself and many on the Bama Board are simply wondering why our long-term threads are getting axed. I’m sorry that you can’t understand what I’m talking about.
Dumbass.

Literally getting rid of the Season Long mega threads is gonna kill the Bama board and do the opposite of what Chicken wants. People are gonna stop visiting the site altogether without the megathread being an easy place to look for information.
Not every little thought is worth the time to start its own thread.

Why are the Admins ignoring this? It's frustrating to go to the Bama board now... Can we at least get an explanation for why you're ruining it?

Fair enough. Why are other boards (e.g. Auburn, Florida, Missouri, Texas A&M) allowed to have pinned mega threads?
Alabama's board is by far the most active on this site, behind LSU's of course. This decision seems arbitrarily focused on one portion of the overall board's audience.

It hides new information from casual readers, makes the board look inactive to newcomers, and discourages growth because nobody wants to dig through thousands of old posts just to find what’s current.

We have pinned seasonal recruiting threads for football and basketball and the group pick em thread for this season. Do not lump us in with you malcontents.

You're making my point for me. We had pinned threads for football and basketball recruiting, but they got killed. Our mods built new threads over the past few days, but a lot of content from the old threads was lost.
We also had a mega thread for the 2025 football season, but it was killed. Texas A&M, for example, still has a pinned mega thread for the 2025 football season. This seems to be an arbitrary approach to overall site moderation.
Chicken, I appreciate you explaining your rationale. As a long-time board member, I appreciated the mega threads -- they were a quick place to check throughout the day for new content. I understand the desire to make the board appear more active to new visitors by forcing the creation of multiple threads, but it also has created confusion and frustration for loyal site visitors.
Please don't make the mistake of trying to appeal to new customers by upsetting your long-term client base. Cracker Barrel did that, and it didn't work out very well for them. At the very least, communicate your plans and intent ahead of time so we can be prepared.

Were they multiple years old?
Chicken said in this thread they are allowed to be a seasonal recruiting thread. That is what we have. We create new recruiting threads every season. We’ve been operating under the guidelines Chicken requested a year ago. It’s not really been an issue at all outside a little scuttlebutt at the onset.

Thanks for the explanation, I don’t agree with you, but it’s your board and you can do what you feel is best for the site.
I appreciate the clarity.

Thanks for the insight, GoCrazyAuburn. I wasn't aware of the request to confine season and recruiting discussions to a single-year thread, and I know the Alabama recruiting thread was multiple years old.
Even with that, though, it seems some sort of compromise could have been reached -- give our mods time to restructure the threads to focus only on the current year, for example.
It also doesn't explain why Texas A&M (for example) has a thread that's now more than 10 years old on their board.
(Note: I'm not trying to call out other teams/boards in an effort to stoke some sort of rivalry fire. I'm just pointing out inconsistency in how this is being managed.)
