Regardless of the defense, I watched Franks throw zip balls right on target downfield. You can start with the discredit bullshite Straws, but he was money. And everyone already knows you have a qwirk in your brain about Franks.

I expect to see Franks much more poised this year and the offense will be deadly regardless of OL, which will be more serviceable than folks think.

Pretty important piece of context for saying

Mullen tells the defense to play at half-speed with the backups in and Franks does well against a DL/LBs that can't blitz for the entire first half.

Yeah, he did great against a defense that couldn't try and had backups all over the field. Thankfully opposing defenses will likely treat him the same.

Also, I didn't mention your boyfriend, I was talking about the defense not getting a fair shake, but if you want to talk about pubic chin I'll be happy to say that his success was likely due to the defense being completely hamstrung.

How was the civil war? :)

Can't say. I missed it by eighty three years. But my great grandmother remembered it and shared stories with us about how things were in Folkston Ga. during those days. she lived to be 102.

Watching other Spring Games, very few teams run it like we do and I'm not sure if I agree with the model.

This will most likely be my last one. It was a fun thing to share with my grandson. I'll only go again if he request to go.

They changed the Spring game because “Gator football was not fun”. McElwain essentially sucked all life out of the program.

Listening to the radio today they agreed that it was a hohum defense.

But I feel the real premise was to get the O some experience. Specifically, the O-line is our weakest/least experienced group.

Does the D need to prove anything? They will be the better of the two sides of the ball and didn’t need to show much.

I hate writing on my phone. I have so much more to say.

Lets not overlook the elephant in the room that is against a hohum defense, Trask threw a pick 6 :)

Sorry, had to do it :)

There was so much less...chatter about the Spring Game this time. Usually it's an illusion, but this time around they didn't even bother. A lot of people said they either left at halftime, or, "won't be doing that again".

It's supposed to at least partially simulate a game. On top of that having it near noon in Florida, even in April is still hot as frick. If it were about fun they'd definitely have a bit more of a competition (friendly) and maybe at six or seven, so it's not absolutely boiling hot?

Starting to get excited for the season and that hasn’t happened in a while. Need to temper said expectation because the OL will suck. Hoping for a couple or 4 grad transfers.

Just get the ball out quickly and adjust playcalling and we can mitigate the difficulty on the line. This is the first coach who I think that can get it done.

What we really need is the first part, get that ball out of there. We really can't do what we did last year and go through four different reads. This time around, if it's not there: Just run. One, two, go.

Straws you are missing that Franks looked better than the other QBs vs the same defenses.

Unless something crazy happens. He is the QB. I'd bet he is good this year. Mullen has had a full year to work through his mental faults. He will only improve from last year, and with our running back group and WRs ability to create...we will be more than fine.

Straws misses a lot about QBs. My reply stated that regardless of the defense Franks was hitting targets crisp and on the money. Trask has a slow delivery and is nowhere near the leader that Franks is....thus the bench. Emory is really our best option if we needed a # 2 QB.

Imo Franks will vie for All SEC honors by years end and in 2020? Try All American, Heisman consideration before the season starts. Not bad for a drowned retarded puppy one of our posters called him.

Went for the first half and couldn't take any more with the heat and jackassery going on on the field. Did Jalon Jones make an appearance in the second half? If not why was he missing?

Everyone takes these practice games too seriously. The team worked hard through spring practice, let them have some fun at the spring game. I thought it was entertaining.

Yes Jalon Jones played in the 4th quarter. he has some legs for sure.

Franks is head and shoulders better than either of our backup QBs. I believe he will have a great year if the line holds up. We have weapons all over the field if we can get them the ball.

I have Franks listed as QB1 in my Depth Chart thread.

Did all of you have strokes? Did I say somewhere he wouldn't be QB1?

While they may have faced similar defenses (they didn't, but just so you guys don't throw tantrums I'll say they did) they for goddamn sure didn't share similar offensive players.

Perine, Toney, Grimes and Jefferson, Krull. I even said in the other thread that Orange would destroy Blue because the rosters so obviously favored one team.

You guys are acting like Georgia fans with your blindness to context. And yes, Jackassery, that was a terrible Spring Game and a lot of people don't want to just go out there to watch a pillow fight while most other schools are running a regular scrimmage.

The only blind person is you Straws, last spring we heard from you Franks would transfer more than once. You were WRONG and own up to it...your fricking ego is too big. You probably are 17 yrs old and live with your parents.

Of course NOW you list Franks QB1 but you have no choice, do you ???? Start posting about other things besides QBs, its old dude for everyone.

You mentioned the Quarterbacks first you senile frick.

I literally didn't talk about them. I just said that I felt like the pillow fight nature of our Spring Game wasn't a fair shake to our defense whatsoever.

But if you want to bring them up I'll definitely talk about the teams being unevenly slanted both on offense and defense. This Spring Game was way less of a competition than last year and more of a Pro Wrestling type of deal. Scripted from the start.

I think what a lot of us are saying is that we don’t care. I wanted to see the new members and how the O-line looked. Why put the 1st D against the first O? To see someone potentially get hurt? To show that the D is better which we already know.

WTH were people expecting? Why are you guys putting so much emphasis on a glorified for the fans scrum?

The team will be ready for Miami. We had no injuries to speak of. I think it was just what was needed.
