I think what a lot of us are saying is that we don’t care.

I'm clearly talking to reel about his senility. The rest have valid points, I'm not marginalizing anyone's opinion and have taken great lengths to emphasize it, such as:

quote:

Disclaimer: I'm not saying Mullen owes me anything, nor saying it's particularly wrong to have the opinion that it's entertaining.

Back to your points:

quote:

I wanted to see the new members and how the O-line looked.

By watching a broken up line comprised of half starters and half backups? See New Members get rolled over by the offense because they were playing against the first string?

quote:

Why put the 1st D against the first O? To see someone potentially get hurt? To show that the D is better which we already know.

Are you saying they won't do this anyway at practice? Why on Earth put the two against each other in a private practice and not do it for the Spring Game? They do it anyway during scrimmages, open and closed. This is just another scrimmage.

quote:

WTH were people expecting?

Not a pillow fight, I guess.

I'm not here to tell you you're wrong, I'm just here to tell you that propaganda isn't good. It's kind of an insult to fans who went out to support the team and watch a tough, hard fought scrimmage like the entire fricking country runs and then trot out this bullshite Mickey Mouse two-hand touch.

Worst of all Mullen admitted that he told the defense to slow down, and he always talks about filling the stadium -- well, people keep speaking up and he keeps ignoring them.

Do you honestly think most people love to go in the 1 PM heat and watch not even a scrimmage?

Again, if you enjoy it like that, I'm not saying you're wrong: I'm saying that other people aren't wrong for wanting a little more than the 2% we got on Saturday.

Zero OL depth thats experienced, thin at DT and LB and still shallow in the secondary.

Yeah, lets go beat the fk outta everyone in a game that dont mean a fkn thing just to entertain the mob.

I seriously question the intelligence of our fanbase more than I should

Thin at DT
New LBs starting at 2-3 spots
Secondary shallow, still have one coming back from season ending injury...

quote:

Not a pillow fight, I guess.

We have 1 QB whos standing out as ready to lead the offense.
We have a backup RB who's back from injury
We have a WR who cant get on the field due to injury.

Yeah. Let's rage war up in this bitch.

Again, Questions intelligence.

And the main ppl bitching would be the first to throw Dan under the bus had a starter gone down to injury

I don't know how many times I have to say: I don't expect a war, I expect a scrimmage.

You know, the same shite they do behind closed doors.

Read, frick.

Yeah because noone ever gets hurt in those

Again, why risk any injury with the lack of depth we have just to entertain the mob at a game that doesnt mean a damn thing??

Again, why is it that every team in the country ran a real Spring Game and we ran a gimmick Pro-Wrestling bout?

Because our HC understands that any injury right now would be catastrophic

I can't stop you from thinking that way, but outside of maybe Big XII teams I'm not sure the remedy is "okay defense, don't even try".

Nobody has a spring game that counts in the W/L column

Nobody has a Spring Game where the defense doesn't play.

Mullen, you mean the hunchback with a bad SEC record like you once said you stupid hypocrite.

I've said excessively, so tell me if you've had stroke symptoms: Mullen has done a fantastic job, that doesn't mean his Spring Games can't suck.

I'm allowed to not be happy about it, you're allowed to be content. Blink twice if you understand.

Most spring games are high scoring. They always make the defense play tame because of the injury fear. This ain’t a Mullen thing.

It went from 35 - 30 to one team having 51 points, please stop guys.

It was 24 - 6 in 2006.

I don’t see why it matters honestly. I’ve been to open practices and I went to the spring game.

They practice their asses off. They play hard, they compete and they got better this spring. They got a chance to put on a show for the offenses to give the OL and the quarterbacks some confidence going into the summer and fall. Getting out healthy and with spirits high is key. It was a successful spring and a fun spring game.

I feel like you guys are not understanding the entire argument.

-I'm happy for Mullen's success.
-I wanted to see more from the Spring Game.
-That doesn't mean I want to see players get hurt or play 100%.
-It only means that I would have preferred balanced teams and an actual competitive game.

That's it. That's all I and anyone who holds my opinion has asked. That it not be a complete farce, like about a hundred other Spring Games that are held.

Straws you are calling folks names and cursing at them, maybe you want to reflect on that? Maybe its your way of dealing with a volley of bullets coming at you.

Please refrain from using vulgar terms when you discuss me.

Is that fair?

They could literally skip the spring game for all I care. I want to see results when they count. I agree with both sides of the argument. But at the same time, the shite is FREE. I have a four year old, and I'd take her to the spring game 100000000 times before I'd take her to a real game right now. Take it for what it is...a show. Our defense is stout, nobody in the entire country should question that.
