What are you thoughts about Mike Bianchi's article saying that UF should hold their noses and add Urban Meyer to the ring of honor at Florida Field?

that's more for the players than the coaches right? the only reason spurrier is in it is because he played here as well.

i wouldn't mind doing something for him. he did get us 2 conf/natty championships after all.

I don't mind honoring Urban Meyer.

I think we have a lot of little jealous girls in our fanbase -- ungrateful.

We had one National Championship before him, we have three now and in one of the toughest times to actually get one.

The pressure got to him, he left. I'd prefer that than watching him slowly check out over a few years.

I don’t have an issue with it. I would probably wait awhile until he’s been out of coaching for a longer period of time, but he did win 2 of our 3 national titles. He’s earned some sort of recognition IMO.

Yes we should. Two titles. Our current head coach. Tebow. The most talent I’ve seen at UF on the 08 team. Insane record vs Rivals. Add him.

I have mostly fond memories of Meyer's time at UF. It was an exceptionally great time to be a Gator fan.

I'll tell you this, if Mullen were to win a chip, it would make celebrating Meyer a much easier pill to swallow.

Agreed. Meyer brought UF football back to the national stage.

The main issue I have with Coach Meyer was the lost year, after he retired and then came back. Had he left when he first retired he would not have set the program back for as long as he did. I have mellowed about this over the years and feel that it would be OK to honor him in some manner, even with the other additional negative baggage that come along with him. Maybe, too soon now but time heals all wounds. 5 years down the road maybe.

Honor him if Mullen wins an SEC/National Championship.

That’s the greatest legacy Meyer could have left us with.

And if Mullen accomplishes multiple of each, put him up there too.

Say what you will about his personal, off field issues. Urban is one hell of a game planner and coach. The guy just wins games. He showed this in 06 When no one gave us a chance in the title game and then in 08 to prove it wasn’t a fluke. Give this some time, and yes honor him.

I hope it happens. I think it will if he doesn't get back into coaching. I am surprised so many others feel the same way.
