Tight ends are such a trap for play callers who don't understand the game (so, Napier).

Even the elite tight ends in the NFL do a lot of their work when they get matched up in a favorable spot because of motions, play action, or the defense accounting for the traditional skill position players.

Buster's heavy motion offense will get our TEs in some good spots where they have an advantage or someone outright doesn't cover them because they aren't sure about their assignments.

Against the blitz if our OL doesn't completely fold I think we could eat if we can give Philo some time. There are only 3-4 teams in the country with a corner group that has a chance to hang with all three of our WRs on a given play in a 1 on 1, and usually at least one of those guys will win their matchup on any given rep even against the best groups. So if teams are forced to play 2 high our TEs can be productive.

Teams can bring a safety down against us to blitz or cover the TE at their own peril.

Hopefully we see a bunch of 4 WRs sets with VB3, Wilson, Singleton, and Stockton

It is FAU. I do not expect to see crazy shite. Just very basic sense and game feel..which the offensive guru Napier was terrible at.

I just want to see our O-line push them around all night to create running lanes. We should be able to hit deep throws with our WRs winning their one on ones with ease.

My point is that GT used to have a functional offense and now that we raided the we see how big of a step back they took.

You’re right it doesn’t even come close to telling the whole story but based on the little anecdotes we have it was a talking point.

The real story is this season, particularly the Auburn game, can’t start soon enough lol

Looking at some more highlights tape the FAU offense is that QB and mostly one wide receiver. That small slot WR seems to be wide open on most of his catches. He must be good at finding the soft spot in the coverage. Our offense should be able to run it down their throats you would think.

But GT clearly took a step back without king and Faulkner. Hopefully it was the other way around and that king thrived BECAUSE of Faulkners coaching and playcalling.

I think Faulkner does a good job of adjusting his offense to player strengths so I have high expectations for this offense in these first 2 games.

Feel like we got one of the best OCs in the Country, to put up 600 yards with a QB making getting his first real game action cant be overlooked. Nothing real flashy but he showed he can get the ball to our playmakers and let them make plays which is really all we asked for.
