But I've read and studied more than a little bit about it, and in my mind, the U.S. Military has done more research on the science and psychology of leadership than just about any other organization on Earth. If we are taking about an organization that breeds leadership, in my mind, that's it.
The point I was trying to make over there is the skills that it takes to be a 3* general, are the same ones that it takes to lead a University (or any other large organization. You have to have the technical knowledge, the people skills and a strategic vision. I'm sure SC's new president has all of these things.
People need to chill and let things play out a little bit.

We now have a friend in the President’s office.
So many texts coming from friends urging me to say hello when I see him again.
This will turn into a really good hire, everyone will see. Bobby is a good guy. There is a copy of his CV going around, his resume, I hope everyone will take the time to see it because it’ll answer all of your questions.
Great hire. And he is not one to hold a grudge. He’ll relish the opportunity and make the most of it. He’ll make all of us proud of hiring him.

Being former NAVY I definitely can appreciate what our new President brings to the table. There will be no snap decisions , without total research, being made. Waste and laziness will not be tolerated and once a decision is made there will be 100% effort to ensure the decision is a success. People will be held accountable.

I look at it as an immature kid that was upset over his dad not getting the job here previously and feeling like he was loyal to his dad by talking smack. This has nothing to do with the job Caslen has to do.

I've got two Generals, a full bird Colonel and two CSMs coming in for the Florida game as guests .... three of them friends of Bobby Caslen, one of them whose daughter just graduated from the UofSC last year.
Bobby III will not be invited and he'd better not show. His Dad will understand.
One full bird is coming all the way in from Rome for the game. One of my closest friends, his daughter is one of my goddaughters and both her husband and she are Florida grads.
That will come back to haunt him.

This ain't gonna end well. A lot of ppl his dad DID have in his corner are turning on him bc of his big mouth son, right or wrong. He's (the son) also been on there spouting "Forever To Thee" every chance he gets as if that will make him one of us and he's too idiotic to realize he's insulting us..and infuriating us..even more by even believing he's close to good enough to ever utter those words. He needs to acknowledge his kid is a twat waffle and apologize for this bullshite. And THEN chop his son's fingers off. Rip his voice box out as well so he can't do voice to text, either.

Hiring a guy whose son openly trashes our university to lead our university is so South Carolina it hurts.
