we were just terrible last year and still were a missed tackle vs florida from going 6-6..so i will say that 7-5 is attainable.

and that missed tackle was a heartbreaker. kept us from going to a bowl.

I'm interested to see our ol. New starters but a new scheme. I look for our running game to be night and day different though it may take a few games to click

Learning the Sean Elliott blocking scheme takes time so I don't expect it to be clicking at the start, the person that has watched practice stated that the ol is still in the beginning to learn stage. If you listened to any of the offensive lineman interviews you will hear them talk about being physical but they also talk about having to clean up some mistakes so this confirms what I read

Looks like I was told the truth. Our OL looks like shite

I posted this a few weeks ago in another thread.
I tried telling everyone.

1-0 My prediction is still safe!

Go cocks. A lot to fix, but unlike last year it didnt appear to me that we got beat and pushed around. Looked like missed assignments, confusion, and needing to gel. This team I think will look pretty good by the end of the year

I think you and other gamecock fans saw struggles and immediately defaulted to the world is ending mode.

A lot of folks have rewatched the game and have talked about how the Oline did a much better job than last year especially in pass blocking. They also noted that WR's were open and Sellers just missed reads and throws. The kid is talented and we all know that. As he settles this offense will settle as well.

Defense (blown coverage aside) was really good and our Dline is as good as it has been in a decade.

Carolina defense overall played quite well - especially causing havoc and turnovers - pressure was consistent - tackling had some lapses in the first real action the defense has been turned loose to tackle - so not unexpected in moments -

LB play appears to be considerably better than last year - I got faith in the defender who didn't have his best two plays on Saturday which led to both OD TD to get that corrected -

O'Donnell Fortune's INT in the EZ to end a threat - I was ready for another 105 yard return just like the Gator Bowl

Gamecock defense had more than a couple guys show they can make the big play when it's needed to change/win the game -

Which is why i am optomistic. Defense can keep us in games. The offense should get better as the year goes on, and the skill guys gel

Remember in 12' we beat Vandy by only a few points and still won 11 games. in 84 a clutch tackle kept us from losing to the Citadel, we won 10 games. Not saying it will happen, but we have time

Our ol will see what they are really made of this week. I know Sellers was nervous this past week but that was at home and I don't see his nerves any better at his first sec away game. Our defense is going to have to get us some turnovers on the Kentucky side of the field for us to have a chance.

The trend vs UK has been holding them to less than 24 points (Every year since 2016 except 2020)

If we can do that, I think we have a good shot even with our offense struggling. I do agree about turnovers, hopefully we can get a few cheap ones. I am hoping that UK didnt finally get a transfer QB that can play ball.

They got Brock Vandergriff, former 5*, from Georgia. Dude has a arm and can run. We will find out how disciplined our defense is

My prediction is still good. Easy win for the cocks and a lot of y’all should settle a bit on the doom and gloom (though it may still come in a few weeks) …but not today

wondering if Mark Stoops presented Eric Wolforf with a pink boa after the decimation of the Ky big blew wall?

Gamecock defense - in 2H especially - was dominant - the bookends are chaos at the LOS - USC still vulnerable to defending the run up the middle at times - but this is the first defense we've seen in awhile that wants to enforce its will on the opposing offense - held Ky to 3/14 on 3D -

5 of Sellers' 11 completions saw the ball travel 10+ yards in the air - for a total of 129 yards gained and 2 TD -

Yall I thought our board was dead. I went to the UK board just to see what they were saying. They just don't use that board at all

Their last real post was almost 3 months ago. Wild.

After last week's hate on Kentucky threads I can only assume they stay on the food/drink board.
